sorry!!

they were already getting ready to close up so i just rushed to get swatches after picking up my color forms stuff and i totally forgot to look at the name of it. Honestly though if you want a pretty purple get odd couple. They were close but not that close...the purple in odd couple was a shade lighter and MUCH brighter.

Do you know how it compares to Milady or Violet pigment? I wanted so badly to see it in person, but we have no MAC here at all. I was on vacation but they never got it in at the only MAC counter my mom would let me stop at

if you go here someone compared a pigments and other shadows to odd couple. so you can kind of get an idea. it's post #43 by lizsybarite.http://specktra.net/f217/mac-electro-flash-swatches-jul-08-a-99157/index2.html

i dont own either of those but im sure someone else could tell you.

All this talk about the perfect purple eye shadow has rekindled my desire for purple eye shadows. I blame all of you!

and to keep on topic, I did get my sea and sky eye shadow in last week. I've been wracking my colorblind head to see if there is a way to pair the blue side of sea and sky with the ever so lovely Climate Blue without looking like a rainbow threw up on me.

I have all of the purple fluidlines, but I'm definitely yearning for a purple paint pot or two. Nice Vice is NOT purple on me. Way too much red to it, with a tinge of brown when on my skin. But, oh, to have an actual purple - I could work with one the colour of royal hue shadestick.

It's not blowing me away but I am quite liking my Odd Couple. I didn't think about the Violet Trance comparison but now that it's been mentioned... I'd love to try the purple in OC with the rest of the Pandemonium quad... =O

Yeah, I have to say they aren't the warmest of people. I hope you find a counter that will let you pick things out! Hillcrest was pretty sweet to me but I've been getting with the MA's there. Fairview falls somewhere betweet Hillcrest and Markville in attitude so they'd be a decent place to check out. And their stuff doesn't move that fast - usually.

Good luck!

Yikes, all this talk of Hot Contrast has me converted! I think I am going to buy it online right now!

But, I have a question about the large fluff brush #227 - did neone buy this?

I bought it on eBay a few months ago (yes, foolish!) but it doesn't look like the one pictured w/ this collection- the hairs are absolutely as soft as can be, but the brush isn't very fluffy, in fact the hairs are bound very tight and are short, so it doesn't look like the fluff brush really at all. I don't know if I got a fake brush or if they have reconfigured this 227, because when I first got it, I compared it to the one at the store and it looked the same, but now the photos are looking like it's a lot bigger.

Anyone know anything?

I think so! I'll have to swatch the two together and post it. It seems to be pinker than the one I wore today which was grayer.

Fairview is my favourite! The girls there are super super nice all the time. I was there last week and they let me pick out whatever I wanted.

Fairveiw is a little out of my way, but if the MAs are great, I might just go there.

Bloor Street is nice, Queen Street is great of course and the MAs at The Bay (Bloor & Yonge) humour me, which I find strangely condescending.

I got it and love it. It's dense but fluffy. Really does a great job when used with Fix +.

Dark Influence RMH makes a good base for Odd Couple. It is true purple and it doesn't crease.

i find that the odd couple duo is harder to work with than my other two duos--polar opposite and fresh green mix. those two glide on very smoothly and are extremely pigmented. i find that i gotta work to get the product out of the purple in the odd couple duo. does anyone else have that prob? or is it just me?

Yes... I am finding that as well. I tried Odd Couple on again today and it just doesn't show up like it looks in the pot. It actually looks very neutral on and that's over the ArtDeco base, which does a good job of making eyeshadows look like they should.
th_dunno.gif
The other two you mentioned, as well as Sea & Sky and even Hot Contrast all go on much much nicer. I'm almost ready to give up on Odd Couple.

^^^Seriously? I must have gotten a bum Polar Opposites and a badass Odd Couple. Mine are just the opposite. I can't get the silver off of my PO at all without practically scraping it off. My Odd Couple is like a dream....

Well isn't that strange?! The silver on Polar Opposites really showed up on my lids. Actually, both sides showed up and I found it to be too much for the summer!

I have to use the silver side wet in order for it to work for me. I do like the way it looks when I do this, but it can be a pain in the arse. The other side of it I usually use as liner. I scrape the deep blue vein or the plummy vein and line my lids with it. I can't use that side wet b/c it looks like mud and I can't use it dry on my lids as a shadow b/c it won't friggin' come off on my brush. Weird.

Is it better to use these wet vs. dry? I got fresh green, which looks great, but I had green dust everywhere. I assume there would be less fall out using it wet.
