My boxes are still sitting on the table unopened though....Waiting for the kids to nap otherwise they would be playing with my goodies.

So Happy box Day to Me

Enjoy! Savor the moment

I was totally underwhelmed with this collection (which is fine, left me more cash for some Chanel goodies!).

I ended up with Pet Me and Utterly Game MB's...and that's it. These are gorgeous "everyday wear" blushes! The finish on these is lovely and I'm so glad to get both of them.

I did like the eyeliners, but because they're perm I'm in no rush. I figure I'll be able to use up a few liners in my current rotation and then grab a couple Superslicks down the line. I have to say, the black is especially nice...super wet looking black, love it!

The quads were a total bummer for me as a quad addict, but I'll get over it. I can dupe what I liked in all of the quads, minus that amazing VP black (which I hope they release someday as a single e/s!). The lipstuff just didn't wow me in person. There are some pretty colors, but nothing that called out to me so I passed.

Overall, for such a huge collection this turned out kinda "meh" for me. I do love the blushes, but for the most part I can live without everything else.

Hi hon- no lanolin in Cunning.

It's got beeswax, which is the only ingredient I see that might be a problem for some people.

My big question before I saw the collection was Cunning vs. Kittenish vs. Hipster.

From coolest to warmest, tested on my red pigmented lips: Cunning > Hipster > Kittenish

I was looking for the coolest color for my NC15 complexion, so Cunning came home with me.

Cunning is closer to Hipster in color, but the texture is 100% different. Hipster is very flat and opaque, even the frost in it is pretty subdued and matted out. Cunning is glosssssyy, very smooth application with a juicy look. I'd call it one level up from reading as sheer. So yeah, LUSTRE. Actually Kittenish has much the same texture, maybe a smidge harder to apply evenly straight from the tube.

The effect reminds me of these Calvin Klein lipsticks from way back in the 80s - overall a retro style that looks new again.

That's why Cunning will come home with me, it looks like glossy vampness.

Funny that you mention those lipstick, they remind me more of the dark Chanel Vamp shades that they first brought out ages ago

I'm really really excited about this collection. Much more than VV for sure!

I want all the pigments except Gold Stroke!

No lanolin. Cunning is labeled a frost. Probably because of the little red flecks in it. Its SO pretty. I think in a few weeks I am going to try to get Kittenish since its a little lighter on me. I am taking FULL advantage of the bold lip trend.

Lilthe also looks pretty but I would never use a full jar of it....or any of the pigments I have

there is a site that sells authentic pigment samples. i use them often cause i find a whole jar of a non "holy grail" MAC pigment to be too much for me. they have the FF ones now. do you want me to PM you the link?

I'm also NW20 and was wondering if Utterly Game would be too orangey?? It looks gorgeous in the pan but I find that a lot of 'peach' blushes turn orange on me... I bought Pet Me though and I love it!!

I want also the coolest colour, but I also want it to be opaque and leaning to matte. I have to see Cunning in person. If it's very glossy and sheer I might have to find an alternative, maybe Kittenish.

I was just looking some Chanel lippies today, I swatched Rouge Noir plus couple of other dark shades. RN was pretty, but leaning brown, I would've preferred it bluer, but it is great nevertheless. The texture was lovely!

I really hope it can be build up to be very dark and dramatic. I feel funny when I have a dark shade on and my natural lip colour is peeking through, I don't know why it is so!

I was doing my makeup today and decided to use Smoked Purple l/s. For some weird reason I did not get it to work, it went patchy and uneven, and looked bad sitting in lines and being so dry. With lip brush things were even worse. I have never had this problem with other mattes so I'm so sad this is giving me trouble, the colour is so gorgeous. Perhaps I should try Cyber if I have better luck with that one (was it Satin finish?). Have any of you had this problem with SP? I'm thinking if I got a bad one or is it something with this particular colour.

So, even tho I got my order last night, I went to the mall today anyway at lunchtime. Shame on me! I just wanted to take a look at the stuff I DID NOT get! That is just asking for trouble!

Anyway I loved Pet Me Blush and had to have it. I also fell in love with liquid lurex. That lipstick is gorgeous and can work with so many things. I have nothing at all like that so I got that too.

OK gigantic free-form musings part deux:

Best of Breed: I wanted to love this one. I really did. I marched into the store this morning expecting to grab it sight unseen. I don't like it as much as Chillin'. I'm not sure what my issue is with it. It seems more pigmented than Chillin' and it's certainly sparklier. I think it boils down to 2 things - the Cremesheen Glass texture is just nicer on the lips and it has that very smooth lustre to it that makes the lips look nice and full. BoB applies more like clear sticky lipgloss, without the shine that hugs the lips that Cremesheen Glasses have. Chillin' honestly has more color to it when applied to bare lips than BoB does, even if it's more whitish color than blue. I was hoping BoB would have the sort of micro-shimmer like Flurry of Fun or Easy Lounger, but it's more like the multicolored shimmer we've seen before, maybe milled a little finer. I keep thinking maybe I'm judging it too hard and it'd look better in sunlight.

Jealous was the same for me and that one I did get to swatch in some sunlight. I wanted to love these so much, but they don't have enough oomph to wear on their own or really alter other lipcolors (believe me, I tried HARD).

For a gloss that looked good on its own and also had the right color and opacity to transform lipsticks was....surprise.....Fancy Cat!

This was my big winner of the glosses, along with Spree (which I also bought) and Docile (which I didn't buy, but was very tempted by). This is a cool dirty chocolate brown. The base is dark, but there is a fine-milled gold and red shimmer that is heavy enough to lighten the color to a mid-tone. It looked sexy on it's on, dressy but also simple. Over lipsticks = love. It looks fantastic over Pet Me, Please. Sheer enough to let the lipstick color come through but shimmery enough to totally change and reflect in the light. This one would also be a winner over just about any of the other lipsticks - the darks, the frosts, the warm colors - the only one it probably wouldn't work over was Of Royalty, but who knows! Love it.

So I got to check out the stuff last night, and I really love Bloodline! I used it last night as a liner and in the outer corner. Here's a quick and dirty eotd w/ it:

I know my blending skills super suck, I'm working on it, I promise!
Bloodline is also a little bit more dark mauve IRL, I think the flash was playing tricks with the color.

I'm also NW20 and only bought Pet Me. Utterly Game was a bit orange... I hate orange on my cheeks.

It's not sheer - it's light and glossy, but gives coverage and is absolutely buildable. Your lip color isn't going to peek through, but it will influence the way the color reads on your lips. You're not going to get close to matte unless you use a lip pencil underneath and then blot, but you can get it to be opaque, certainly over a pencil. Kittenish has the same texture. It's very versatile, which I like. If you want an amplified, you'll need to wait for VV. Cyber is nice but it's much much darker and heavier, with a lot of black mixed in. Cunning and Kittenish are more their pure color without being mixed down with black.

I bought the black Superslick Liquid Liner and it is so much more pigmented than my black Penultimate eyeliner pen... however, it does clean off in a different way, as was mentioned above. It kind of flakes off when I used a MAC wipe.

It also isn't as easy to apply as my Penultimate eyeliner pen... so now I have to learn a new skill.

AG is lighter & more on the peach side. Add some med pink to that & you might have Pet Me. Pet Me is so beautiful on!

So, silly me - I went to my 'new MAC' counter today
greengrin.gif
uh oh.....it may be too close for comfort.

I wanted to buy a quad, but sadly I just couldn't

oh well, holiday items are coming up.

The MA looked stunning!!! She was wearing Pearl CCB on her eye lids with Gold Stroke pigment over it & the new Green liner
th_drool.gif
it looked so naturally beautiful.
She was wearing Pet Me blush which also looked so beautiful on her.
Her lips (which looked amazing & completed the gorgeous look) Spice liner all over her lips lightly with Of Royalty over that & then topped with Schemer lg over it. The look was so feminine beautiful
th_drool.gif

She was also wearing a NEW upcoming MAC foundation which several of the MAC artists having been raving about. Its called Pro Longwear with SPF 10 - due out Sept. 16.
Her skin looked FLAWLESS!

I bought:
Gold Stroke piggy <----- LOVE this color on
Definitely Feline liner
130 brush

And, I had such a fun time with the MA
