It was a surprise for me how much I liked the piggies from this collection. I ended up with Bloodline, Mauvement, Gold Stroke and I bought Antique Green a couple of weeks early at the pro store. Yes, I am becoming a pigment addict in addition to the lipstick addict I've always been.

I just got back from my MAC counter. I'd gone to see what they had left and to ask about a VV preview party.
Four liners were left, so out of curiousty, I swatched them.
Boy, am I underwhelmed.
However, I swatched Wildly Refined and then put some on and jeepers, it looks so pretty.

I had to try so hard to not snatch it up. xD

seems to me, with the economy being shaky, companies would want to LE less for fear of losing customers to DS dupes. I only know a tiny drop about economics, so i may be way off here. But clearly, the big company that gets Evilbayed alot must have considered this at some point. This company would never loose its uniqueness to the DS companies, and the quality is not always the same, but i am sure they have considered toning down the LEs a bit because of the economy.

I might agree with you -- especially on an item like ML or SR.. that was a miscalculation.. but on other LE products, they can never be really sure what the customer will really want and they have to have firm production numbers... so they limit production and if the product becomes a hit, or a cult item like SR -- they lose.

LE items are rampant now because of the economy.. and it may not get any better as the jobs situation worldwide is not improving

I wear CDN pretty much every day too! I love it under Revlon Golden Goddess l/g or Mac Fashion Whim or Pink Lemonade l/g.

I keep going over and over this collection and I think I'll treat myself to some of the liners...they're so drool worthy. Even though they're perm, I feel the need to get them now LOL

I've got some excessively long philosophical rants and raves sprinkled through this thread so far, but I realized I never listed my actual take-home haul & since it was embarrassingly huge, you all might find it entertaining:

Cunning l/s - I'm really picky about dark lippies, but this one was best for me and I think the most versatile one too.
Pet Me, Please l/s - I wanted to love Aristo-Cat, but it was too much like Hellraiser on my lips. I'm glad, because Pet Me, Please turned out to be much more beautiful - soft without being washed out with that cool frost that's retro and modern. Great base color for glosses too. Might back this one up.

Spree l/g - Another retro/modern beauty. Just right for wearing alone or on top of something else.
Fancy Cat l/g - Total hidden gem of this collection. Looks fantastic layered on top of other lippies - changes them up in unexpected ways, but still looks good alone

LL Quad - So gorgeous!!! I'll try and dig through my old posts and find my epic ode to each color in this quad. FF is the best black eyeshadow in years, like a silk stocking!

Mauvement
Antique Green
Bloodline

What can I say, they're all
th_worship.gif
. I'd have gotten the others as well, but lines must be drawn somewhere, hehe. BTW, Antique Green over Below Ground gps is sexxxay.

Pure Show
Nocturnal
liners
Sure they're perm, but I don't want to wait to rock the silver and gold. A little Mauvement with Showstopper and Cunning on the lips is a beautiful, romantic look.

Utterly Game m/b - I was going to resist, but the MA tried it on a girl next to me who went from drab to glowing with one swipe, so of course I had to break down.

188 SH brush - my go to blush brush, so it's nice to have a purse-sized one. Needs a carrying pouch, though.

Earthly Harmony - I wore In the Buff all summer without a single break. This will be my fall/winter version.
Jade Dragon - EH won't be worn 100% of the time because the rest of the time this bad boy will be ruling my fingers and toes.

I spent waaaay too much on all of this, and there are still a few things I want (the black liner, another lipstick or gloss, more pigment) but I've got a complete makeup wardrobe for fall/winter so it's all good!

I'm still gonna buy an assload of VV too

smiles.gif

I will have to say that Furiously Fabulous's beautiful sheen might be undercut by a GPS underneath....it's worth experimenting with, though! Let us know how it turns out.

I love what you got liba -- I was considering the same two polishes, but have had really bad luck with MAC polishes in the past.. maybe I will give these a shot tho since it has your good reccs.... I have a similar version of the 188 brush -- short handle from Kryolan. I love it for my personal travel kit. I have had Mauvement for a while now, and did pass on bloodline since it is soooo similar to some of my testers.. I don't need too many more piggies unless they make my lashes grow like Betty Boop's

In Italy, a lot of very fashionable women are sporting a very fine black cat eye -- tightline and waterlined and a very colorful/metallic line on top of that. It looks stunning and not overdone because the dark/black shade is "hidden" in your lashes, but does give a deep dark definition.. I love it

In the Buff had excellent wear for me - over a hard gel manicure, it'd look good as new even 3 weeks later, not even noticeable tip wear or dulling, and I'm typing all day long. Here's hoping the new ones are as good - i'll probably get a mani/pedi with JD this week, so I'll update everyone!

I've stayed away from pigments for years (my bottle of Frozen White sitting lonely for a decade). It was time to enter the modern era. At first I was meh about Bloodline, but then I saw it in the sunlight and that was that. I've tried it blended in with Cunning on the lips
graucho.gif
- that's a nasty girl look, if there ever was one.....

I was thinking the same thing......i guess it needed more word of mouth. It really doesn't look that great in a lot of swatches.
