Re: Flashtronic

These MSFs sound like they are going to be beautiful on darker skintones and complexions. I cannot wait!

I am not big on MSFs but I must admit I am really intrigued by these.

Re: Flashtronic

i really dont think Gold Spill is going to be that dark considering it has all that cream and peach through it. think of how the colour will look whilst it's all blended together - i think it will be a soft, light to medium bronzy peach with no visible glitter. so it'll be the same sort of finish as Lightscapade, Stereo Rose or So Ceylon. that's just what im guessing by looking at the picture

Mmmmmm. I'm definately getting the blue-pink lipglass, and the Quarry Sky eye shadow. Maybe Ether, Mercurial and Tectonic as well. They all sound positively delicious.

This collection and C-Shock are what I'm going to end up blowing all my money on. Since I can't do the nude lip thing because my lips are dark like the rest of my skin, Smoke Signals is out. Nevertheless, C-Shock and Flashtronic are going to keep me happy for a loooooooong time.

Well pretty much all these sound nice.

By Jupiter: a light taupe with beige and deep brown veining (frost).
Mercurial: a yellow gold with lilac and chestnut veining (frost).
Lovestone: a raspberry with wine and copper veining (frost).

I'm new to the M.A.C. cosmetics, but do they currently have a mineralize line? I looked online, but didn't see anything. Is this there first attempt at mineral makeup? Sorry for some many questions.

Yeah!! 'Bout time!

I thought the same thing! All three sound wonderful for dark-skinned beauties....

No it's not their first attempt with mineral makeup. They have already released like more than 10 shades of MSF and some Mineral e/s. They were all limited edition due to some hard to find ingridents. However, they do have a mineral liquid foundation (Mineralize Satinfinish) and a pressed powder (Mineralize Skinfinish Natural) as permanent products.

I'm pretty keen on the three e/s in the pic, especially the top one.

Re: Flashtronic

hmmm i'm not too sure about those shadows... how are the old mineralized eyeshadow duos btw? haven't seen too many fotd's using those. are these new e/s the same texture as the old ones?

The MSF shadows look cool, but when swatched, aren't they just going to be regular ole blues and plums, etc? Don't get me wrong, I am excited about them, but I think MAC is getting one over on us.

Because honestly, shimpagne, porceline pink, glissade, shooting star, and naked you ALL really favor fair skin.
One of the best things about Stereo Rose, Metal Rock, Gold Deposit, and to an extent Petticoat is that there's some kind of color payoff without some serious layering of the product, IMO.

That is soooo true. Most of the MSF that I have seen favor lighter skin tones with the exception of Metal Rock, So Ceylon, and Gold Deposit. The other shades are either way too light for me (NW45) or I can use them as a highlighter, possibly.

yeah but that's the same as the MSFs - they're all a bunch of pretty swirls and despite the fact that they blend into one colour, i think they're far more special than a standard blush!

with the MSF products, each one is really individual because the amount of veining in each will be different. so the colour you get from one eyeshadow could be completely different to what you get from another. also, you can focus on certain parts of the veining

i have one hell of a veiny Petticoat MSF and i like to focus on the big raspberry chunk when i want a deeper colour. if i want something more natural, i go for the paler section. standard eyeshadows and blushes are no where near as versatile!

*shares the MSF love*

ETA: i think its great that MAC is coming out with darker colours. im an NC30 so i can pretty much wear the light shades and the dark shades. the majority of MSFs in the collection at the moment are definitely suited to paler girls so Flashtronic will be great for our lovely darker women

besides, if you use a 187 i reckon you can make any colour, even Metal Rock, work for you!

I agree with you. I am really wondering what these will actually look like on the skin. I think they'll probably be similar to other things. It's just that they are SO BEAUTIFUL.
