People hated the metal x ones and thought they were the worst cream eyeshadowsout there! (i still like them and wear them) but these are just on a different level though.

I tried Free As Air today as an all-over eyeshadow without any primer. I feel it easier to spread it on your hand than it is on the eye. Also I was trying to use a brush at first and was not working, so I ended up just fanning it on with brush and the blending with my fingers, which I never ever do. It was to this all even over the lid even so. It was sheeted in some spots and did want to cooperate with me. I do like how it looked when I first applied it. It looked nice. But man, it's been 4 hours now it looks like caca! I'll post some before after shots when I get home if anyone would like!

Yep, those are the same issues I had with them too. I took Trophy back today :( The MAC dude said everyone is complaining about them. He said they should have made these Paint Pots. And, he also told me that these shadows only have a 3 hour wear time

And yes, for some weird reason, they do look & work better on the back of the hand than they eyelid.

Once again I'm glad that you US girls get a collection before we do, so I can read all your reviews and opinions on the products. And this is one big skip for me.

flash after a half an hour of wear:

And flash after 5 hours of wear:

annnnnd here's some full face shots outside from when it was fresh:

In the second picture you can see the unevenness. It's funny because I wasn't really happy with how it wore away by the end of the night at work. But I had A LOT of people complement my eyeshadow specifically today. hmmmmm.....

hmm it looks quite uneven at the end of the day.. bt it looks very pretty when you have ur eyes open.. its becos the light blue looks very nice and sheer (not necessarily a bad thing in this case).. thats probably why dear! u still look so pretty with the eyeshadows..

im definitely skipping this after seeing ur photos though.. my eyes are nowhere near as pretty as yours, so i certainly wont hve pple complimenting me..

Awww thank you!! I'm sure your eyes are lovely though!! And I do agree, the look much better open than they do closed with these shadows.

I'm sorry people are having so much problem with the shadows. I've been wearing mine all weekend without any problems at all. No creasing, no uneveness, no migrating sparkles, color staying good for 6+ hours, no funny cold or drying sensations, no problems taking them off at night.

I WAS super picky and spent over an hour picking out the best ones for me at the store, though. I loved the light blue, but the level of sheerness it needed just looked weird on me so I passed. I also loved the bright green, but it was one of the grittiest ones, on top of not being so flattering on me either. Both of these plus some others just did not build nicely and it was either super sheer time or get out of town with 'em.

I wound up going with Cool Elite, Black Diamond and Luxury Touch (the mauve). All of these have a nice smooth texture and leave a good sheen and didn't act funky when trying to apply them, like some of the other colors, like the dark green, did. Actually, the one I thought had the best texture + color + ease of application was the olive green, but again, not a good color for my skin tone.

I've played around with all of them and the best application method for me is scooping out a teeny blob the size of a lentil max with a spatula and then using my fingertip to apply about 3-4 very small dots on the lids (not thick dots - really flat ones). After I dot it on, I PAT (not rub or smear) them in. The formula spreads anyhow, so patting plus the heat of my fingertip is enough to blend it to cover the whole lid and then up into the crease and further up into the brow. If I'd try to rub it to blend it more into the brow, that didn't look good. 'Just had to pat, like lightly tapping and even that would sheer it out enough. If I needed more, I'd just pat another dot or two where it needed it. Applying with any kind of brush pretty much sucked.

Also, I didn't like the way it behaved over base at all. Freshly moisturized eyes, where I didn't let the moisturizer totally dry down before applying the shadow, was the best.

Honestly, on my lids, I actually feel these smooth out the color and the texture of my lids better than the light colors in the MegaMetal shadows - Dalliance is gorgeous but it always makes my lids look a little crepey - no issue at all with that with these Big Bounces. Black Diamond gives me a look that's very similar to the dark grey-brown-black Veluxe Pearl in the Leopard Luxe Quad, except with golden sparkles - that sort of sheer black stockings look that I love. Same result with Luxury Touch, but with sheer mauve stockings :) The Cool Elite is the finickiest one, and really is best applied extra sheerly and not built up.

I'm trying to restrain myself, but I'm probably going to buy a couple more colors and just split them with friends if needs be, but I think I'm going to hoard Luxury Touch all to myself as a go to, daytime casual look.

My best advice is still only pick a color that is an enhancement to your eye color and skin tone, because these have to be left sheer. If you try to get strong colorfulness out of them, you are going to be annoyed. Just see if they'll give you a sample plus one of the little disposable spatulas and try out my technique at home. Just don't bother with them at all if you don't like sheer tints though - you won't get what you like out of them.

I didn't get a chance to get over to Macy's to check out these shadows until this evening. Well, I guess they aren't selling well since all colors are still in stock. The SA said she didn't like the formula at all.

I was only interested in trying out the gold one -- Impeccably Rich. So, here's my opinion:

The texture of these liquidy, moussey e/s are like sheer color & glitter particles were added to MAC clear gloss (not the sticky lip gloss). I applied a medium coat in the store w/ my finger. It looked nice w/ a metallic sheen. No coolness as Shontay said. Don't know how long it took to dry as, once I applied it, I didn't touch it. It lasted well for almost 2 hours &, then, it acted like a shadow without a primer in that there was no staying power of the base color -- just sunk into my eyelids. (*Note, I have normal to dry slightly hooded lids that only get slightly oily in the crease in the hot summer months.) It's still on my eye almost 7 hours later, however, the best way to describe it is that it looks like I had applied a sheer application of MAC clear gloss on my lid & then a sheer application of glitter on top, think BE True Gold e/s.

The color & glitter particles of Impeccably Rich are exactly the same as Chilled on Ice PP from the Cham Pale collection. The difference is the texture described above for Impeccably Rich vs. Chilled on Ice which has a sheer, but buildable, paint pot base consistency, thus, staying power. For the 1st couple of hours, I have to say I liked the Impeccably Rich better than Chilled on Ice because, IMO, the texture of Impeccably Rich is smooth, even w/ the glitter, & the paint pots from the Cham Pale collection apply with a uneven, splotchy look even though they are, infact, applied evenly -- it's the glitter that makes them look uneven & patchy -- think Cuddle & Shimmermint shadesticks w/ glitter.

Like the Cham Pale PPs, the glitter does migrate around the orbital eye are & it doesn't bother me that it's slightly around my eyes, but, yes, it does migrate to the cheeks which isn't the best look.

These Flighty e/s would have been outstanding if the base was that of fluidlines rather than a liquid mousey base w/o any staying power. I wear Frostlite fluidline all over my lid & it looks great & wears like iron.

If they still have this in stock in the next couple of days, I'm going to apply it over Fyrinnea's Pixie Epoxy eye primer to see if this primer will hold on to the product. If PE can't hold this stuff, I can't be bothered trying to find something that will.

I tried Count Your Assets and Rich Thrills again today. I used my finger to pat it on my bare lids. Count Your Assets looked nice. I did a really thin layer. It photographed horribly, though. My camera couldn't pick it up at all, so what's the point? Rich Thrills was a mess with a thin layer. I couldn't see any color with or without the camera. When I layered more on, that's when I got that overbearing cool feeling that I had the other day. With a really thin layer of Count Your Assets, I didn't feel that effect after it dried. Still an epic fail. Taking these back either Mon or Tues.

I think the 3 lighter colors of white, cream & pink are more forgiving in this formula (forget the darks & brights), but I can find much better quality items to buy.

^^^^^^^^

yeah, I am gonna just get these instead. glad I skipped this collection, I hate creasing and lack of longevity in an eyeshadow. If I wanted POS cream e/s, I can get those at the Drugstore!
