I went over to MAC this evening. I so wanted to pick up a backup of Lightscapade, but one with noticeable blue & yellow. They had 2 left with almost non-existent blue & apricot veining (truly beigescapades) so I passed. I hope MAC repromotes this in the near future with the presence & diversity of the previously released veined colors. I do, however, like that the glitter is really micronized in this repromote. It seems MAC is using much smaller, finer glitter in recent collections. I like it!
When I called, an SA told me the collection was on display, but it wasn't when I got there. I was so disappointed that a super-nice SA & took me into the area where they were housing the Ice Parade sets. Each set was in it's own acrylic case. Overall, they looked pretty, but I'm an ala carte person who only wants to buy 1 item in a pre-configured set or palette. The unpromoted lipstick (sorry, don't recall the name) is an ever so slightly red-undertoned raspberry (medium depth pink w/ a purple undertone). Very, very pretty, summery, & if sold alone I would have bought it. IMO, the brushes were just ok -- nothing to write home about. I'm holding out for a full-sized 286 ... or is it the 282? Well, whatever ... the flat-headed stippling e/s brush, not the crease brush.
Anyway, she then brought out the G&I Tray. You could see that all the SAs had been swatching. lol! I didn't swatch Fresh Ice & Winterize & don't recall if I swatched Frozen Blue as FB reminds me of Tilt e/s. I swatched Shimmermint & it is definitely a minty baby blue -- was so hoping for a green, or, at least, a bluish green. I applied Snow Season & I though it was the best of the bunch; a very slightly apricot-undertoned beigey-champagne with nano-sized gold glitter the size of the glitter in Emerald Dust. I just couldn't justify it because it was so-so sheer & similar to other e/s I have with much better color payoff, but w/o the glitter. Funny, after MAC, I went to Bare Escentuals & swatched Queen Phyllis & sans the MAC glitter, it was almost exactly the same color, but has a lot more color depth -- so this went on my w/l. Hold That Pose! was a medium-light frosty silver. I was surprised because for some reason I though, looking in the pot, that it was going to a brown shade.
While I didn't swatch For Effect as it's not my color, I did swatch Let's Skate. Very sheer & shimmery; remininscent of ChamPale. I was expecting Morning Frost to be a light to medium brown, but was surprised it was a light grey-undertoned light taupe frost. It reminds me of Warming Trend & a light version of Smoke & Diamonds. It isn't great for me as a lid color, but I liked it for under the brow if I'm wearing a a greyish taupe in the crease; thinkt it would make a nice color transition. I ordered this one.
I only swatch the gold e/l. It lacks any yellow & appeared very bland & dull to me.
I applied How Beautiful b/p to my cheekbone, but it didn't do a thing for me as there wasn't enough contrast with my skintone. I think this would be best suited for a light skintone in order to pop. The Snowglobe does have a nice matte sheen to it. I put Lightscapade on 1 cheekbone & Snowglobe on the other to compare. The Snowglobe is powder-mat, but has a nice overall glow to it while Lightscapade has small glitter, less color payoff, but more sheen. I found Soul e/s @ BE which is the exact color of Snowglobe, but much nicer because it has more color payoff due to it's mineralized texture & a lovely sheen like Lightscapade has that is lacking in Snowglobe. Soul also went on my w/l.

I'm not a BE gal, but these 2 made exceptional, even better-than-MAC dupes. Same way, BE's Intuition is Illegal Cargo on steriods.
The 3 lipsticks I swatched were: Whirls & Twirls -- a very light champagne glaze with very subtle shimmer. This would make a very pretty glaze over any nude lipstick. Can't vividly recall any specifics about the Such Flare, but it's not anything like Lady Danger (orange red) or Russian Red (pink red) as, if I recall correctly, it's a true red without any noticeable undertone of pink or orange. I also swatched Soft Sable. A soft, light frosty taupe. Very pretty, but when I applied it, it was too dark a nude for my taste.
The only 2 lipglasses I swatched was the white one with teal glitter. When I analyzed it under flourescent lights it appeared milky white, but in incandescent lighting the gel appeared clear. The other one was a clear gel with pink & silver glitter. This one really sparkled brightly when the light reflected off it; this one would be especially great for going out clubbing -- as I'm a middle-aged betty I passed on this as my clubbing days are long gone & I'd have no place to wear it to -- maybe a disco reunion? lol! Tammy Faye Baker, here I come! lol! It's too over the top for formal afffairs. In terms of glitter, both of these reminded me of recent lipgelee releases: Sin-tillation, Luxure, Bubble Lounge, Fashion Flower.
Anyway, sorry I couldn't do better, but I resigned my swatching to only what interested me as I had to make time to run over to BE & Sephora while I was at that Mall; besides, my head is cluttered enough keeping up with MAC releases & remembering what it is that I want. My overall opinion is that this collection is very youthful -- the e/s are very demure in their sheerness, yet the glitter makes them sparkle. The glittered lipglasses are perfect for going out partying.
I wanted to check out the new 211, but, as usual with my luck, when I finally get out there, they're OOS! Figures!
