very beautiful! I plan on using NYX Milk with Shimmermint too so that the color shows up more
I was inspired by Lou's look she posted the other day and thought I would share :)
I used Shimmermint wet. First I applied original UDPP, then NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. I spritzed a brush with Fix+ and patted Shimmermint on my inner lid and outer V. I put MAC Brill in the center which gave it just enough of a highlight in my center lid. I used UD Exhaust and a little bit of UD Romp in the crease. Feline Kohl as an eyeliner, and I smoked it out with Hocus Pocus.

But yes, in response to the current discussion, I've found that using the MES wet makes them stick around longer. NYX Milk made Shimmermint more vibrant, too! Fix+ helped the color stick around and the fallout was very minimal! I just swept away a few random glitters and then spritzed my eyes with Fix+ and I got a good 8+ hours of wear time with this look yesterday!

Oh, shoot, I posted this under the Daphne Collection so I'm reposting here. Dope!

I did get a chance to run over to Macy's & re-check out this collection. My MAC store sucks in lighting big time. All incandescent & fluorescent. Even the outside mall lighting it's the best & it's just too far on the 2nd floor to keep swatching & running outside. Macy's has bright fluorescent lighting & the counter is right next to the door so it's a peach to run for daylight. It was great to see the collection under great lighting! I want one of the large, spherical, mirrored display cases! :)

I specifically went back to swatch the Let's Skate. No color payoff for me, just glitter.

Anyway, my question is to anyone who got the the MES in Snow Season: Would this make a good face highlighter in the same way Lightscapade does. The just occurred to me so I figured I throw it out before I ran back needlessly -- of course, if any store even has any left.
It all depends on the finish you like, the veining of your snow season and your colouring. Ss would give alot more of an obvious highlight than lightscapade. I picked a ss with alot of peach and brown veining so it wouldn't suit my fair skintone but hand picking a ss with highlighting in mind might work....

My Polar Opposite looks completely different from Winterized, the veining is more chunky, so I have a big blob of navy, hardly any burgundy and lots of silver. Winterized is a lot more evenly mixed, so gives a very differnt colour when swatched. I guess it depends on the veining though.

HAS ANYBODY NOTICED THAT WINTERIZED IS THE EXACT SAME AS THE TOP HALF OF POLAR OPPOSITE MES??????

because it is!!!! It is literally made out of the exact same colors (navy, burgundy, silver and gold)! I am cool with having both though, as it is pretty much the most spectacular combo ever! I will post pics as soon as I find the cord to my camera.........

I know so little about MAC mixing mediums ( I just always use TFSI as a base and Fix+ as a dampening agent)...is there a post about the different ones somewhere? I went to Pro recently to try and get some information about them but the girl seemed to be a bit clueless and so I just grabbed the eyeliner mixing medium, but it seems too sticky to use as a whole lid medium...
I would like to find one mainly to use for whole lid application of pigments and MESs......

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I use MAC mixing medium with my pigments and MESs and they last all day. It really makes them pop too.

I love winterized! Its such a complex color and shows up gray blue purple brown on my lids. It's great for an easy smoky eye and because it's great to use its right up there with hocus pocus. I have no problems with too much shimmer or fallout. Love it!

I'm going back for this as well, because I thought the same thing

I have the water based mixing medium. I shake it up, put a drop or two on a plastic shield (like the ones that come on the MES) and dab my brush in it, then take the brush to the MES or tap a little pigment out from the bottle and pick up the pigment or MES with the wet brush. I apply it to my eye and it stays put ALL DAY. I've come to prefer it over fix+ for e/s that I want to apply wet. There's one that is alcohol based but I don't think that one is the one you wanna use for eye products.

I went to pink up Snowglobe yesterday and got hijacked my the Yves St. Laurent counter. I'll have to make another attempt... Other than that, I'm not feeling too bummed about skipping this collection. I'm more excited about what's coming up.

I'm in anti-enabler mode on Snowglobe. It's swanky, and probably the last chance for a great winter highlight powder from MAC unless the BP from Gareth Pugh is worth the extra dinero. For me, I feel like I can't justify it since I have plenty of Chez Chez Lame from last year, plus Lightscapade (which is equal in glow, if not equal in Snowglobe's refined texture) and half a jar left of Truth & Light MCLP (which isn't exactly the same sort of thing, but close enough).

I'd rather wait for Estee Lauder to come out with another one of the gel-to-powder illuminators, which I'm sure they will do in a very Snowglobe-y shade, because I'm dying to check those out.

The best thing about Snowglobe, just to see the other side of the coin, is that it's definitely handy as a simple 2-in-1 product. It's like having a face powder with some basic, light coverage combined with a brilliant, pale highlighter. Very nice texture that melts into the skin. I'm not the biggest Beauty Powder person, though and have a bit of a thrifty attitude about highlighters just in general, especially since I'm so in love with Careblend powder to serve my all-over face needs. Next year I will be ready for a Snowglobe-type product for sure, though!

Thank you!!! I will get that on my next trip! I am always looking for ways to adhere those shadows to my face :)
