Self-enabling. ROFL. I already got 3 LS in total, so I should be fine. But if you opened your BU, you might want to get another (fresh) one. Just don't open it! :)

Got my Winterized, I was hoping it would have more purple. Mines pretty much brown with purple sparkles, which is still nice. I can see where some can not know what to do with a color like this, I'll just have to experiment.

Great suprize for me today! I went to my mac counter and they had Winterized! The MUA said they got some more items from another country, i think that was what she said. So now i got a change to swatch it for myself and i love it. I'm so happy i was able to get it. It makes a really pretty smokey eye on top of Vintage Coin metal x.

Strangely enough, Hold That Pose has turned out to be my most used G&I product. I apply it dry with a stiff brush, emphasizing the lids and the inner half of the brow bone, sheering it out from there. If I'm wearing a bright lipstick, I might add some dark or colored liner; otherwise just use a medium neutral shadow under the lower lid, or often nothing at all. It's the perfect color for a totally effortless, undone look, adding just a touch of depth and texture while staying young and fresh. It always gets looks, especially from guys (I wonder if they're trying to guess if I'm actually wearing makeup or not :p ) I really am a fan of the deconstructed, minimalist eye look, and HTP gives it so well. I think if you have it, you won't need another silver or pale taupe shadow this season, unless it's a cream.

On the other hand, I'm kind of meh about Let's Skate. I think my skin is just getting a little too old for the heavy paint pot texture. I need something lighter and fluffier, that seals a thin skin-like layer over my eyes, rather than just sits on top. I did a test last night with Let's Skate on one eye and Trophy Big Bounce shadow on the other. Let's Skate edged it out in looks on its own, but as a base for a shadow, Trophy looked so damn much better on me - made my eye look so much smoother and less made-up/caked on. I think the last thing I may do is mix LS with a touch of eye cream before I apply it, but I think I'm ready to face the fact that they're starting to be the wrong texture for me. They really should have marketed Big Bounce as the "age-defying" base for us oldsters that it is, rather than just something sheer for the summer.

Sorry if I missed this but I did try to search. I'm wondering if any of you picked up the brush sets and how do you feel the quality of them are in this collection. It varys so much with the sets.

I went ahead today at Nordies and got the set with the 268 well the all white brushes for my daughter-in-law. I know she'll love the glitter handles as she LOVES glitter. I just hope the brushes are good and don't shed.

I'm still not fond of the bag which 2 of the ma's said they didn't like them either. One of the ma's liked them, definitely a personal thing. They said most people either really like them or hate them, not much in between. However I do like the boxes.

I have at least one if not two new brush bags still in their box from the Antiquitease holiday collection that I think I will give her in case she doesn't care for the clear bag.

The Viva Glam bag isn't so bad. It's kind of cute. I think the red really makes a difference as opposed to the clear. I would have loved to see the Cyndi l/s in there with the nude instead of the pink. That would have been a definite buy for me.

Damn! Is the mineralize the one with the duo fiber? I got the all white which I think is called the "Special" set. It has the 217, 213 ans 168 which I love in the full size.

I wanted to get her a good starter set but not spend a ton. These are a great deal when they are the good batches. These vary so much with different collections.

I read some reviews like on Sephora on some sets from other brands that are in the same price range and they seemed kinda meh also---my daughter uses that "word" all the time:)

Any suggestions on a good set around that price?

I know to get really good brushes you should buy the full size or some of those nice sets that run around $200 plus. I just want to get a pretty good starter set but not one that the brushes will shed or feel scratchy.

I think the "Special" (white) set is the best one of these sets. The bristles are reasonably soft and usually don't shed (break!) too much. While they do not have the same quality as the fullsize brushes, I think it is a great starter set, especially as it features some essential brushes.

Just my two cents worth but I hope it will help. Make sure when you purchase from ACW that you know exactly what you want. Consider it "all sales final" so to speak. It is very difficult to get a refund from them on damaged/not as advertised merchandise (I think they even still charge a restocking fee) and their customer service is non existent.
