Oh, & I got my Whirls & Twirls. Its a barely there shimmer. I can't decide how I feel about it yet. Its pretty & meh
hmm.gif
I will try it over other ls & see if I still like it.

I have a feeling that is how I am going to feel about it so I am going to wear mine over some nice lip pencils by NARS and MUFE that I line and fill my lips in and then put this one. Same with Soft Sable. It looks prettier that way and has more depth than just shimmers.

I had kind of the same reaction when I tried it. It was pretty, but it just didn't seem... exciting. I'm still thinking about it, but it just seems like there are a lot of other things ahead of it on my list...

Me three.. It was probably the only thing I was most excited about. I think for me it needs a bit more pink. Still keeping it though.

Damn, I think you just convinced me to get Double Spin and Soft Sable....I was worried those colors would wash me out, but I think we're pretty similar in features...I'm NC15, brunette and similar eyes, though mine lean more dark blue/grey at times. Those lippies look gorgeous on you :)

Wonterized on lid lower and upper , snow season on crease....double spin on lips...

on cheeks i got gold go lightly as contour, miss behave as blush, snow globe as highlight (REALLY packed)

Down here with soft sable... which I kinda like on its own ...its unique but for layering over purple lippies is quite amazing.

OK I tried them out after reading this and they are def better in action!! So glad you told me to try them out.
I don't care what anyone says.. the glitter handles are soooo cute. I have some regular paint brushes that have glitter handles and the mac ones are way better. The glitter is packed a little heavier. Oooh Love it.

The white-haired set at my store didn't impress me at all. The 212 flat liner brush was especially bad. Try them in action though. The full-size versions of those brushes are some of my favourites and work a whole lot better than they feel so maybe yours will too.

I think soft sable is very sexy...like a sultry smokey eye look but for lips. I think its my favorite from this collection and lemme tell you soft sable over ANY lipstick ive tried so far makes it a bran new shade!

Just wanted to mention that Soft Sable and Woo Me kissable lipcolour go really good together!
I've been wearing them together the last couple of days.

Great to know thanks for selling it to me lol. I'm a little iffy about the frost finishes but it sounds like it can be easily worked around. I own Rose Maiden and that's a frost finish so perhaps Soft Sable can be its Frosty buddy in my make-up drawer :)

Has anything sold out yet?

Doesn't look like the website has any sell outs so far but a number of stores in my area (Portland, Oregon) are sold out of Whirls & Twirls :( I called almost all the Nordstroms, and my local MAC and they're all out. So I just ordered it on the website.

Wow, taking self portraits and getting the effects and colors accurate is tough! I wanted to get in on the fun, though - plus I wanted to show a little Glitter & Ice action for us middle-aged ladies - it's definitely do-able, but the MES are frosty and pale enough that it takes a little planning to look like you're not trying and failing to be youthful.

Kind of a goofy photo. I have snazzier ones, but they don't show off the eye look as well and since that's what I'm here for, please enjoy the goofy face!

Anyhow, this is Double Spin on the lips, with a tiny touch of Mineral Mode on the cupid's bow. On the face, I've got Truth & Light MCLP all over, Equilibrium for cheek contour, Lightscapade all over cheekbones and a touch of Warmth of Coral MB on the apples of the cheeks.

On the eyes, I've got Vibrancy Eye Primer (which I really love) all over the eyes and all along the under eye area. Then I applied Let's Skate on the whole eyelid and then all the way up to the brows with the large double faced eye brush from Semi-Precious (which I really, really love). Fresh Ice applied dry with a 217 on the inner eye/ducts up to just under the brow socket and buffed in really well - it seemed like the trick to make this look good and not overdone or wrong was to not go farther up the brow with it. Moleskin all over the rest of the lid, in the outer 2/3 of the crease and up to the brows with 217, then applied heavily under the eyes with a 219 and winged out and up past the brows for some contouring, then blended in. Mineral Mode applied dry on the upper lids just till below the crease and then some more Moleskin to touch up the crease. Tight line and liner upper water line with Dark Envy (would probably have preferred Avenue but I didn't want to fish for it) with a 210 and a healthy coat of Haute 'n Naughty. Afterwards, this is where I spritz on the Fix+ - on eyes and face. I find this makes these MES look nicer than just applying them wet to begin with - which makes them look a little crusty and prevents them from being buffed in smoothly for that sleek reflective look. If you're younger, you could probably skip that step, but for keeping the frosty texture from battling with older eye textures, this is what works best, I've found. 'Finishes it just right.

All in all, this batch of MES is pretty challenging to use for me, other than Winterized, since they're so light and cool toned and have a somewhat powdery texture, but it's a lovely and high style effect. Not something I can easily use all over the lids or on the brow bone, due to my hooded lids and sort of puffy brow bone skin, although I think I could use them under the entire length of the lower lid on a non-puffy eye bag day. My Big Bounce Shadow in Cool Elite was for sure easier to work with all over and smoothed out my eye texture to perfection without any effort. Here's hoping the new Metal X formula does the same sort of thing, since my Cool Elite isn't gonna last forever.

I'm LOVING Soft Sable as well. It's a great shade. I wore it yesterday & today and my friends all complimented me on it. I'm also loving Eloquent Air. It's a tad lighter than what I expected, but it's so soft and beautiful. I mixed both lippies together & it was a great turn out.
