The places in which there are the least life (animal and bacterial, viral):
-Poles (extreme cold)
-Dessert (extreme heat)

Most organisms have a hard time surviving in environments in which they can't keep up with their needs for life (one of them water and the other temperature).

There is something about the cell walls (bacteria for example) they expand or contract depending on the temperature, so if its cold they have to put a lot of effort (for survival) by making their membranes less solid so things that are less fluid in a cold environment can enter the cell for nourishment and other purposes. Putting your make up in the bathroom facilitates bacteria, because water in the air is highly beneficial (water molecules are easily accessible and they are a buffer for other stuff to come into the membrane cos of permeability), and cold in the fridge is the opposite its not only the cell takes a lof of energy to let things in, but they are less things in the environment (generally a lot less stuff in the fridge than the air in rooms).

I dont explain myself well, but its harder to survive in extreme temperatures. Unfortunately extremely high would melt the make up! so we are left with cold!

if you think about it cold slows down the natural processes of food it self. So it's not a surprise it works with make up that has bacteria or fungus or something. But it doesnt mean INDEFINITELY... it means a lil longer specially if unopened.

I'm very curious about this as well!

it depends on your skin tone, eye color, and the other MES or eyeshadows you have,

For me, since I have green eyes I was looking for a purple sheen and more of the copper. Less of the silver/blue. Because blue and green eyes IMO is a NONO at least on me.

My rare find has more brown so i was sort of ok with having less of a copper so it would differ. My rare find is pink and brown

my winterized is blue/purple
http://www.specktra.net/gallery/image/view/id/58714

see the difference? It really depends on your needs. On my skin and my eyes rare find is more flattering because it plays along with complimentary colors... and winterized is more of an analogous one (i dont know how to say it in english sorry), so it still looks ok but not as awesome as rare find (on me NW 10, green eyes, brunette).

Silver veining in the winterized that I tested gave a gorgeous blue/purple sheen.....

I have read and understand the reasons for preserving pp but personally I am never going to use up a pp in 6 months so I don't try and I have pp on the go that I have been using for 2 years or more. I just store them upside down and they are fine. I can't believe I am going to admit this tho....all my make up is stored in the bathroom!! There i have said it....I feel like I have just admitted to an affair or something! It's the only space I have and I try not to think of the bacteria!!

Thanks. For those who are interested, do a search in the PP thread. And by all means, that's just my experience and wisdom I accumulated over years of using make up in professional performing arts settings, but nothing is set in stone.

I back up only what I actually use often (powders) or what I need to replace frequently for hygienic reasons (e.g. p/p or CCB).

Well, according to "Barbara" on the Live Chat they had some stock of Winterized but they must have sold out already. Weird how it never did show as available and none of the counters actually received it. She suggested calling Mail Order, but I do wonder whether they have any.

I went to MAC edventually.
Everything was there but winterized obviousy.

I've already ordered:
Morning frost PP
Let's Skate! PP
Pleasure Principle Dazzleglass
Whirls & Twirls

Decided to buy shimmermint when I was there. I was going to get For effect but decided to get shimmermint instead. It's really sheer but gosh when I got home and put it on and went into a room with good lighting, it looked so much more amazing and utterly beautiful. It was like there was multicoloured glitter in it. But shimmermint is seriously the queen of fallout. It's all over my cheeks and everything. I hope there's some product which helps to prevent fall out. Also it's best applied with the finger I think. My eyebrush hardly picked up anything

Honestly, I was around the collection for the whole time, and the other xmas collections.
My hands were so glittery at the end.
I was surprised that I wasn't amazed by everything. I thought dressed to dazzle would be much better that it was, same with all the others. However she-zam was gorgeous! I really want it but I'm not sure if it would look good on me.
Soft Sable looked really disappointing in person, the red lipsticks were really pigmented. I didn't try any on though. Glad I bought whirls & twirls though as it looked really shimmery :)
Unfortunatly so beautiful and snowglobe weren't that great, they looked below average tbh but those compacts were gorgeous.

All the dazzlespheres were beautiful. I felt like a magpie with the pink dazzlesphere, the lipglosses were absolutely gorgeous, so was the coral one too! The packaging didn't look cheap either. I didn't really understand the stacked pigments though, I tried them and they wouldn't show up on me...

The brushes in the sets looked and felt a disappointment. They were small. The 226 was really flimsy compared to the full size which I have which is more domed and stiffer. No brushes looked like the originals. I just signed and those who worked their telling customers that they were a good deal. And they are but really, they're really low quality! And why pay good money for something that won't work!
I'm glad I went anyway to mac, I knew what I wanted and not what I wanted.

I think the plastic handles on the mineralize brush set, makes them feel cheap. I don't like the quailty of the 130se, it doesn't feel as dense as the regular one. I like the 286, but you can wait for MAC to release the full size or get the one from LM. I've also seen plenty of mineral lines carry a version of this brush.

I have one mac SE brush set from years back. They're not awesomely fabulous, but I find myself using them a lot. I haven't bought a set since because I like to invest in full sizes. BUT my hubby bought me the mineralized set as a gift and I'll say I love it. The glitter factor is too freakin cute for words although my husband claims "looks like something you'd find in a drugstore, not mac". hahaha! They perform well enough and are soft. They bleed a teeeeeeny bit when I washed them - but I have many many skunk brushes from lots of different brands and I've never yet come across one that didn't bleed at all at first washing. I'm pleased enough with the set although the case is a piece of garbage.

I bought a travel-sized MAC brush once (duo-fibre) and haven't ever since then. They definitely aren't on par for quality.
