I'm just starting to get into eye makeup, and boy am I in for a ride!

Btw, how do I know which pigments are eye-safe and which are not? Also, what pigments would you recommend (in other words, the "must-haves") for a newbie?

I know I have a weakness for purple on my eyes.

I'm so glad and proud you didn't cave into temptation.

If you need to save, try not to carry cards with you and only the cash you strictly need. Keep $10-$20 FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY in the deepest unsought place of your wallet. Paying everything in cash makes you aware of how much money you are spending. Keep your budget and stay strong, honey!!

Aww my collection isn't as impressive as most of the other ladies. After all, I've only been collecting MAC for about a year.

And I totally agree with you about the card issue. I always pay by card and end up spending too much, it's so horrible.

I haven't used my palette yet, it looks so pretty that I'm a bit reluctant to touch/use it.

well i think if you look in the products safety part f teh forum there is a list of eye safe pigments
smiles.gif
but that said i actually use some of the non eye sfae ones and i am fine. but it's always best to do a patch test before you pack it all over your lid to see how you re-act
smiles.gif

and i think you should definately get violet pigment! it's such a pretty purple with a slight pinky sheen to it. i also love grape pigment but that is a pro pigment - it's a really dark purple with a nice sheen.
smiles.gif

also pink opal pigment makes a great multi use one. use it on the lid, as a highlight for eyes and face... it has a pretty pinky duo chrome to it
smiles.gif

i think cornflower is a lovely pigment too -it's blue with a purpley duo chrome to it

pm me if you want more recs!

Does anyone know of a dupe for Spell No. 9 from the Smoke and Mirrors palette?

This color is the one I've been searching forever for. I really don't want to have to buy multiple palettes just for this color.

In regard of pigments safety, I think I saw a list here in spectra, but I don't remember where exactly. Anyway, as Lou said, every pigment comes with a safety note inside.

I know how it feels!! I also feel reluctant to use my things when I buy them, but now I just take pictures of them, print them and I use my goodies. There's no point on leaving your lovelies untouched for your grand daughters, who won't love them as much as you do!

I used to take pictures too, then I got lazy. It also doesn't help that my stash items are always changing coz I swap on MUA too.

If you love more neutral looks than try 5 Haute High Kinks warm set.

I personally would buy 5 Cool Capers mini set.

i would go for the cool capers set too purely because it has grape in it which is an awesome pigment!

Yeah that's what i was thinking to get. I'm not used to wear lip products often, so maybe it's good to start with some soft shades...

No you don't!! I'm obsessed when it comes to real colors, so I have a ton of them!! (I'm not that good in taking pictures) I also tend to take them with the heaviest quality available, so they are heavy! I understand lazy, sometimes my goodies (especially Chanel) spend untouched a month or more in waiting for perfect lighting, then I go more lazy in printing!! I don't print as much, I wach them in the PC and then I tend to store them in external Hard Drives.

On the swapping thing, I couldn't leave any of my goodies, it'll break my heart!! I have the hardest times trying to pick up my makeup for traveling because I hate not to have all my babies with me!! That's for some days, I couldn't bear to let one baby of mine to be gone for good!
