Both my Stereo Rose and Petticoat are 10g from this In The Groove collection while my Smooth Merge is 9g from the Colour Craft collection.

Hope that helped lolz

I had a bit of the same reaction. I looked at it and worried it was going to show way too warm on me. But then I tried it and it looks divine- just enough shimmer and a rich coral colour that seems to shift subtly depending on what it's worn with.

Yep, same here. I thought I would look like an oompa loompa from the chocolate factory but it turned out to be very nice. It looks so orange in the pan. BTW, why are people selling it for $99 on ebay? Geez!

Hi everyone...

Just need some help.. How different is By Candlelight vs Soft and Gentle? Do I need both for different looks or are they quite similar?

Thanks a lot for your help.. =)

Same here! I was afraid it would be too warm and too dark for me. Well, I tried it yesterday, and I think I looked semi oompa loompa.

I have to be careful not to put too much product.

I only got Stereo Rose, Hang Loose, and Band of Roses. I cannot wait to try them soon!

Hi all,
I need to share this with you!

After seeing swatches and reviews I'm really lemming Happy together, hubby just wen to town for some errands, and when he was leaving I asked if he could go to MAC and get me something ... and he said YESSS!!!
th_DANCE.gif

Soooo, I'm very happy that hubby is going to buy something for me, but on the other hand I'm not so happy that he'll discover how much the things cost!!

But I'm excited nonetheless!

fferonica, I have only By Candlelight. I swatched Soft & Gentle at a store yesterday, but I didn't buy it. I think the main difference is their undertone. Here is the description of the each MSF.

Soft and Gentle - Gilded peach bronze
By Candlelight - Golden pink

Are these going to help you?

Soft and Gentle: too much blush: MAC mineralize skinfinish- pics, swatches & ramblings!
By Candlelight: too much blush: MAC Warm & Cozy collection MSFs- By Candlelight and Comfort

Is there any MAC store near you? Easiest way is just go there and see if you like them or not. I'm sure you'll get some help here, too.

Hello!

Soft and Gentle has more shimmer (more frost and more flecks of the small pieces of shimmer) than By Candlelight. By Candlelight is more of a sheen, with no discernible pieces of sheen. It is a more even sheen. If that even makes sense.
Also the color is different in the two. My By Candlelight has a peach, pink tone, while my Soft and Gentle does not have any peach/pink. Soft and Gentle is more the straight up champagne.

They are similar, but definitely different.

Personally, I use my By Candlelight much, much more. I think it is more versatile. I know some people can use Soft and Gentle on their forehead or down the bridge of their nose, but I can only use it as a highlight above the cheekbone. Too shimmery for me for more than that.
However By Candlelight can be used by me, lightly on more than just cheek highlight.

To be honest, even though I'm a bit of an MSF hoarder, if I could go back in time, I would get By Candlelight, not get Soft and Gentle (ouch, that hurts my inner hoarder). I would use that money for some other makeup product.

What does that say about me that I can look through that link, and as I scroll and look through all the pretty swatches, I can feel my blood pressure drop, and I sigh in contentment?

I still want to remind people that are thinking about ILILT that Bubblegum from SCF is exactly the same (atleast on me they were, about NC15).

Shontay - I think that lipcombo (Jazzed+R,L) you posted is the best I've seen you wearing along with the dark gloss from GMLOL!

It has been exceptionally hot here the last week or so, it's rare in Finland to get over +30 degrees (celcius)! I love the heat, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to wear makeup in this heat, you sweat it away in less than an hour. So my makeup has been just mascara. I'm waiting the weather to get to atleast somewhere near +25 so I could finally try Stereo Rose!

The release of MSF Stereo Rose with In The Groove this month let the discussion thread explore.
msf_addict.gif

This is why I have opened a new thread now and moved all posts refering to MSF Stereo Rose from the discussion thread to this new one - please continue your talk about Stereo Rose there:

http://www.specktra.net/forum/f250/a...o-rose-167222/

This way I hope it will be easier to answer questions and talk about all the other products from this collection in this discussion thread.

Thanks, Susanne, for opening the thread for SR!

I haven't used my SR but wore Petticoat today instead. Mine has quite a lot of veining but I use it with 188 and it is beautiful! I love the soft, glowy pink look!
