I have hooded lids and it took me a while to figure out what was up to do a nice line, but once I figured out the trick, I do best with fluidlines, compared to liquid liners. Take a look at this picture: See how when the eye is closed, the top edge of the wing actually looks like a straight, flat line? In this picture it's almost straight and flat, with just the tiniest upturned angle, but you see it's going straight out from the point where the hooding or downward folding of the lid begins. The under edge of the wing is more rounded, but when the eye is closed you see the  line doesn't just go diagonally down to the lash line. it sticks out straight past the hooded point and only goes diagonal below the hooding point. When the eye is open, it looks like a very different shape. You have to draw an almost horizontal line out from the hooded point, then fill and round the outer edge of the wing, while building the inner line down to meet the lash line. Easier to show than to describe, but this is the way to make the wing look smoothly diagonal when your eyes are open - it's a bit of an optical illusion.
Thank you so much for this! I have very hooded eyes, plus a very round eye shape, and this is such a helpful explanation!

I pretty much want to take this entire display home and set it up on my vanity.

I'm already violating my "no lustre" rule with the Cinderella collection, just the matte lippie and perhaps the blushes.

Great demonstration! I'm going to try this, although since I'm older and the skin on my eyes has gotten much looser I don't know if anything will work on me. It sucks to get older and not be able to wear make up like I used to! Appreciate that taut skin all of you younger women. It's those little things that make a difference!

Girl I hear you!!! I took that taut skin for granted for too many decades!!! I would kill for eyelids that would just be a cooperative canvas again, now I have to "smoke everything out" just to blur the edges.

ALL YOU SWEET YOUNG THINGS, WEAR AS MUCH EYE MAKEUP AS YOU CAN NOW!!! GET KRAAAAAAAYZY WITH IT COS IT DON'T LAST FOREVER.

I use the 266 and the 210 and Sonia Kashuk bent liner brush. My lashes tend to get in the way and the bent brush seems to make things easier. I think someone here has as their signature " Never ask a girl with winged liner why she is late."

As someone with hooded lids as well it takes a bit of patience to get them right. Sometimes I end up looking like Amy Winehouse. *shrugs* Sometimes I just roll with the look. It's funny how I can easily put winged liner on others but struggle sometimes on myself.
We Hoodies must unite! We should start a tips and techniques thread.

I found that doing a straight line or a curved line works. Kinda found the curved line technique by accident. but if I do it the traditional way, it looks goofy. I also use a short handled bent liner brush. AWESOME!!!

I was explaining this to my hubby not too long ago, happy he understands now. But before our talk last week, he had been side eyeing me ever since November. I literally had like 2-3 packages coming every week! Now I'm down to one a week. I am 28, and have only been wearing makeup for a year. No one ever told me how fun makeup was!

The lipsticks are all fabulous but I will have to try them on but lustres don't give the color payoff I like.
