I think regardless of type/brand of foundation, you should always use a setting powder. Foundation particles will migrate on your skin throughout the day and that's what makes the foundation not look so fresh anymore.

I personally prefer a translucent powder on top of foundation rather than a coloured one. I feel like coloured ones can look cakey especially in the summer. I use Ben Nye translucent powder (it's super cheap and works great), but MAC also makes an invisible powder or you can use MUFE HD powder....anything translucent will do

Since my skintone is quite different in the summer, I will wait until then

I was matched to Fiji, it's the "second darkest light" shade (light5). It's weird too coz it's a yellow toned foundation and I've always been matched to neutral to cool foundations (in MAC and MUFE). But hey it matches perfectly and all foundation colour matching systems are different from one another

What kind of brush do you use with with the prep and prime powder? A Kabuki?

I love this foundation! Its very smooth and creamy but on my skin, this foundation and studio tech wear and look the same. I had the mac artist put studio tech on one side and the mineralize on one side and they both look great, I'm not sure which one to get, probably both. She stressed the importance of setting the mineralize with powder. I am a NW45 in sff (too dark) and I was matched with nw43/nc50 in the mineralize. Just wanted to post my experience!

I am really neutral toned and can wear NW or NC but usually get NC15 studio fix as of late since it tends to hide the bit of redness I get on my nose, (thanks Dad!), sometimes better than the NW15. Anyway, I got the NC15 of the mineralize spf 15 today and it is definitely a bit too dark.

I put it on and it really does minimize pores but it looked SHINY. I then used my select sheer pressed powder on it which killed the shine. It's not OMGWTF too dark, but it's dark enough to bother me. I am thinking about getting a different powder to set it that might lighten it up just a notch or two.

I don't tan. I wear 100+ SPF sunscreen, usually only go to/from my car and the 2 times a year I am outside during the day I have a parasol, a hat and spend almost the entire time in the shade. So there is no chance of me matching the stuff exactly which sucks because it's the first foundation I have found that actually does deal with my cavernous pores. *sigh*

big fluffy brush. kinda like 134/150 because you can apply just the right amount evenly to your entire face in one go. its not the kind of powder you want to build up or you'll see it on your face
nope.gif
denser brushes (like a kabuki, flattops) i find actually might may me look kinda dusty since i have to put more on my brush to cover on my entire face. its too much coverage for a transparent powder.

its a brand new product, so no one knows quite yet. besides, everyone uses things differently, so there isn't an exact time frame.

I have MAC's translucent powder but it won't last forever, and I like the words "super cheap"!

i actually alternate what brush i use for face powder each week! one week i will use the 134 - big a fluffy and awesome! the following week i will use my 182 kabuki - my fave face brush ever! and then i use the 180 flat top kabuki the week after

although i feel that the 134 works best with the prep and prime powder

I went to get the new foundation today and was matched up with NW25. It did run a little darker. I ended up not getting it, because after talking to my fav MA she said that it gives a "dewy" look after awhile, even with powder. (We are both the same skintone and have oily skin and since we live in FL where it's SUPER humid, I need to stay away from anything that isn't matte).

It felt nice on and the coverage was pretty decent, but I wasn't impressed with it. I ended up taking it off and getting another bottle of Studio Fix Fluid and some Prep + Prime powder instead.

Just thought I would share my experience for anyone who's wondering how this foundation would be on oily skin

If you live somewhere dry, or like that dewy look, it might work, but I just really HATE that shiny look it gives me. HTH

I am going to have to try this foundation. Shitty thing is, I just bought I new bottle of Studio Fix Fluid. Oh well, I will buy the 130 this week & I will wait for the foundation until I run low in SFF.
