MAC - Mineralize Foundation SPF15 Discussion

I picked this up today with the 130 brush. Well, I thought I did. I ended up with Moistureblend. Why does this always happen to me? I really wanted to wear it tomorrow. I had no plans to go near a Mac Store tomorrow. You can't return an item from a mac store to a counter, right?

It really does sound like a perfect foundation brush - and I do have a weakness for duo-fiber brushes, they do seem to leave a more airbrushed look.

its great for cream foundations, i still like the 188/191 for liquids tho.

any skin type can use any mac foundation, but each one has better ingredients/finishes for certain skin types. i never tell anyone they can't use this or that for oily/dry skin, but i do tell them that based on the ingredients/finish i wouldn't recommend it for them. ask for a sample and see if you like it for yourself.

Re: New MAC Mineralize Foundation

This foundation is my HG, It gives your face a gorgeous dewy finish, and the coverage is light to medium. I've had many complements, on my fresh faced look. In photos your face looks flawless but the spf causes the flash to reflect off your skin making you look white, that's the only downfall.

Is everyone having to go one shade lighter in this foundation? I picked up my normal color yesterday. I tried it out and the MA said it blended right into my skin. Now, I'm wondering if he was just saying that and should I go back and try another color.

For me it also was my normal colour (the one I was matched to before).

you know it's weird you should say that about it being a little darker... my nc20 at first seemed to be the perfect match... however when i see myself in different light i can't work out if nc15 would be a better choice. when i go on my travels in the next week i shall see if i can get a smaple of nc15 to try before i make my final purchase!

That concerns me, as I am NC15... nothing lighter than that. I may be SOL. No, I don't get any tan at all in the summer.

^^See, I think the lighting is part of the problem. I hate the store lights but, when I went outside yesterday in the sun light, I could not see where the new foundation started and the old ended. It really did seem to blend together. I'm going back to the counter today and puting a lighter shade on one side of my face and the shade I would normally buy on the other half. Maybe then I can get a better idea of what color will really work.

I was actually told to go darker than my usual shade. From an NC45 to an NC50. I had to do this with the Sculpt foundation as well.

I guess that depends on what formula you are comparing it to. I'm NC50 in Studio Sculpt which should be labled NC55 since it's darker than NC55 and I'm a NC50 in the Mineralize Foundation SPF15, so I went a shade lighter in comparison to SS. I don't know for sure my shade in SFF. I was auto matched to NW45 for the longest time but I have recently found out the NC range looks better on me and I have not been rematched in SFF.

Funny you should say that about Studio Sculpt NC50 being darker than NC55 because when that foundation first came out, the MA and I both noticed the same thing. They tired to put me in NC50 but, it just made me look kinda lifeless and the NC55 was too light. NW43 in Studio Sculpt did the same thing the NC50 did so we went with NW45, which looks so much better. That's what I got in the Mineralize Foundation yesterday and what I wore for years in a pressed powder MAC had back in the day!

I noticed even the lighter shades in Studio Sculpt were a bit off. After wearing the NC15 yesterday..my face did not turn orange, my face was not itchy (that happens sometimes with Mac foundations after wearing them all day). There was oilyness in my nose area and forehead..but I am usually oily there anyway and also did not were a primer. My next step will be to try the NC20 and see if that turns orange. It does cover better than my NARS sheerglow thats for sure. Are you all using the 130 with this foundation? because the MA applied mine with a sponge not the 130 and it came out nice..so I am just wondering if the 130 is worth getting.

Re: 130 short due fibre brush..

Oh I'm glad i'm not the only one! I love it, and yeah it's not streaky at all! I know you have to search for it specifically on the site so I guesed it might not have officially been released yet XD
