Guys i have bad news, these foundations are going to be LE!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO! This makes me so angry. I just found out today. There are about 8 or so shades in the range and i guess if they are popular enough they will bring them back as permanent but for the moment just LE. Boooooo....

you say you use, mineralize satinfinish? are you satisfied, do you use the same color as others mac's products. I use NC25, but I see that MSF in nc 25 is a slightly yellow.

This pisses me off sooooo bad! A foundation LE? WTF is the point of that?! Makes me want to NOT even try it.

Not too excited about this one. Lately I am loving the spray can method I get from Dior Skin Flash Foundation. Would love if Mac would improve on their spray foundations- the last one just didnt work for me!

IMO, the MSF naturals give a great, buildable coverage. They go from light to med. The do cover and spots, fill pores and help to give a soft focus to the skin. I loathe the dry feeling of most powder foundations, but MSF Naturals don't feel dry to me.

Agreed.

I have a theory about the whole LE thing. We, the consumer, are basically doing MAC's test marketing. Rather than pay focus groups to examine the product and all that BS, they just give it to us.

If the LE product is shitty, than it sells out or languishes in CCOs and is just a blip on the radar.

If the product is a hit and they make it permanent, we all feel so good that MAC was listening to us.

Granted, the "trend" thing does require pumping out masses of new product, but really the LE thing is a win-win for MAC.

The BE multitasking bisque (my foundation) makes my NW15 skin & under eyes look completely flawless...but I want MAC to make this shade & better quality in a mineral makeup...& a little less drying.

Ditto. That bisque stuff is amazing. I'm like NW20/25...so i just use it to cover undereye circles and red spots, then buff my darker powder foundation over it all. It's scary how good it works!

It's an interesting point that you are raising. There's some perverted irony about LE products.

In Belgium we have one MAC store at the moment. When a new collection comes out, the store usually gets a dozen or so of every LE product. When you think about it, with these numbers, you can never really loose money. But you won't make any money either. In one weekend everything is usually sold out. An 80's marketing handbook (when I was studying) would have taught us to go to the manufacturer and demand more of the same products, no matter what.

These days, not making money with a product, and just have a product that was very popular seems more important from a marketing point of view.

In my view, it's seems like LE collection are more and more a way of getting people into the shops and getting to buy permanent products, because that's where the really money is.

It gets even stranger if you see companies like Estee Lauder spending lot's of time and money and testing, before they launch their Signature lipstick. It's just a lipstick and a huge amount of focus group testing goes into it.

I guess it just costs too much to have a huge range of permant products in stock. Although, I wouldn't mind LE products if they really made an extra effort to make sure that they produce enough.

As for the foundation. For me, Studio Fix powder comes as close to a mineral foundation as you can get. There are hardly any "useless" ingredients in it, and I thought that was the purpose of mineral foundations.

Try Alima in the meantime. I have dry skin and it works great for me, plus it's super finely milled, they have a gazillion shades to choose from and it contains only 4 ingredients.

Do you use the liquid Studio Lights that you just bought over your MMU?

this isnt really mineral though is it? the other 'mineral' MAC foundations had an awful lot of other ingredients and fillers in it. itd be nice if MAC could make something more along the lines of what EM, BE, Alima, Meow etc. does

i got the liquid one a few month ago and i wore it everyday then it fucked up my skin! it did look nice and glowy though but i didnt wanna make my skin worse and i read tonnes of reviews on BE so i bought it from a website at a low price [and the mineral veil] and now im hearing MAC is bringin one out so i hope its better than BE and i dont see why its gonna be LE

You can wear it alone, but I prefer to pat it on after concealer/foundation.
