Reviewing the Mineral Loose powder in Medium (I am NC25-30):

Pros: Not sure yet...if the foundation does not break me out, that will be a plus.

Cons:
-The packaging and puff brush thing is GARBAGE. The twist cap easily twists off so I would not ever carry this around in my purse. Capplicator does not compare to a powder brush application, so don't bother.
-Expensive! It came to $39 after taxes in Canada! Must be because of the crapplicator thing that adds to the cost of it.
-The results were not as good as my Bareminerals foundation. It took a lot of powder to get any sort of coverage...So sheer it can be wasteful. I even used a primer.
-Not as "pure" when it comes to ingredients.
-Limited color range...they are supposed to be neutral shades, but when I compared the powders...they had a hint of orange?

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

For myself, I am "anti-liquid foundation".. basically, i hate it. Doesn't matter who's brand it is..

I saw this in the Willowbrook Mall (Wayne, NJ) about 2 weeks ago, and i just HAD to have it.. I am normally an NW20 and the "Light/Medium" is perfect. I love it.. I use a plain kabuki brush for application, however, the "caplicator" i found is more cumbersome than useful. But, for quick touch ups, its ok.

Pros:
Good coverage
No breakouts (and for me,thats news worthy!)
Lasts and lasts
No caking
Didn't get orangey after a long day..
Didn't make my skin dry or accentuate any dry patches (i got those!!)

Cons:
Caplicator sucks.

Any recs for a NC37 and NC35 skin?

Probably Medium. I'm between 35 and 40 and Medium Plus is a bit to dark (starts off well then oxidizes).

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Has anyone with normal/combination skin seen any unusual breakouts. I have been using this since it was released at Nordy's in March and I am starting to break out in little tiny bumps on my forehead which is not normal at all. I am loving the coverage of this foundation and they way it feels but I don't want it to mess with my skin. Has anyone else noticed this? TIA!

Aw, that sucks! I haven't had any problems with mine and it's been 3 weeks. I hope it's not the foundation causing problems for you! Maybe the recent warm weather? I know I've been beading a bit more than a month ago b/c of the balmy temperatures!

Actually here in Seattle the weather has stunk; we had snow last Friday and we have had ONE day of over-60 degree weather. As far as the foundation goes, do you use a foundation primer? (my mom uses BareMinerals and the people at ULTA told her to get the Smashbox primer) Also what I find helps, because I get the bumps too, is using a gentle face scrub (mine is a discontinued one from B&BW) every night after I wash my face, it really helps out to not only get all the makeup off but to bring oil up to the surface.

dresscamp was only a harvey nicks exclusive... usually exclusives dont end up online apart from ones like heatherette and mcqueen, last years novel twist wasnt online.
The mineral foundation is out in may as we usually get collections from 2 weeks to a month later than the US

no problem

but if you go to Dubai there might be a big chance it will have sold out... there was apparently only 22 of each item available, as its such a limited collection

Thanks for your advice! I do use Smashbox's Photo Finish primer and I also use a face scrub every other day. I don't know what is going on but I am still going to continue to wear the mineralize loose. Maybe it is the weather. It has been really strange!
