Woah baby, I saw this collection yesterday, along with Osbournes. Strap yourself down, it's going to be an expensive month!

One thing, even though there are some similarities between this collection and the Big O, they don't really overlap - even the lippies. It's a bit of a dilemma! The main thing I'd say is the bright lippies in this one, along with the neutral and purple shadows, are somewhat more geared towards darker, warmer skin, but only barely. I think anyone will be able to wear the things in this collection and even Kelly is surprisingly wearable for NC and darker skin. Even if you decide you only want the lipsticks from one collection or the other, there are still some SERIOUS fantastic products in each collection that have no overlap at all, plus you could definitely mix and match successfully between both of these collections, as the color balance between cool and warm isn't that separate from each other. So, you could wind up spending much less or much more from both of them, depending on how HUNGRY you are. Phew, it's a dilemmmmmmmmaaaaaaa!!!

First off, I guess I better mention the absolute, no-brainer standouts first, just to make life easier:
Of course, Black Ivy. In fact, it's even better in person than any swatch we've seen. All the swatches make it look a lot blacker than it is. In person, it's a very deep but vibrant deep bottle green/petrol. On me, it leans to the green end of the spectrum, but it's the dark shade of a dragonfly's shell. It's MATTE. No sheen in there. It doesn't read black at all, even when applied on the eyes. Stupendous. It goes on mega-opaque in one pass, too. I'm going to call it and say this is the best fl in years, that will appeal to the most people. It's Dark Diversion level, only even easier to apply.

Then, the giant surprise amazingness of Moody Bloom SS. OH MY!!! I cannot even speak more highly of this fantastic, fashion forward shade. On my red lips, it's a slightly sheer plum, AND rose red, AND bronze AND gold - it's so multi chrome, while still keeping a soft, sheer, juicy and natural texture. If your lips are pale, it may lean less red, but it's still going to shift as the light catches. You know how I've felt we're very much due for MAC to return to its duochrome roots, and if this is a hint of the future, we are in for some good times. I am going to wear this color to death - it's soft enough for casual, daytime and unique enough for night with a dramatic eye.

I have a super busy day and I probably won't be around to say much more at least until tonight, but hang in there. So much to say.

[@]liba[/@] You are sooo wonderful to post these lengthy and thorough reviews. I know you've helped me personally many times, especially with being more selective and low buying. I've been looking forward to Black Ivy since I saw the first swatches so I'm really happy that it's a standout product in terms of quality. Looking forward to what else you have to say about the collection. Thank you thank you!

Thank you liba. As always. I love your honest reviews. I want the Moody Bloom SS now as well as the Venomous Violet and maybe Phospherescent(?) one. Depending on swatches.'\

Liba, I forgot to ask. Did you find Dodgy Girl more lavender or pink??

I'm so excited! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the rest! I was planning to skip the Moody Bloom lippie, now I'll have to reconsider. I'm very curious to read your thoughts on the eye shadows. They're all so pretty, but I think I have similar colors already. Curious if you think they're dupeable with Parrot, Paradisco or any of the perm purples (Fig 1, Vibrant Grape, Stars n Rockets, etc.).

As for the other fluidlines, Nightshade is really interesting. It's cooler and "dirtier" than Dark Diversion, plus there is a very subtle grayish sheen to it. I had to look twice to even see it. Still, not at flat matte as BI. It's more purple than Our Secret (or DD, for that matter), but it doesn't scream obvious purple, like Phlox Garden - much more subdued and smokey than that one. It's not really dark - more like a deeper mid-tone. It'll be good for all year and easy to do dramatic or subtle looks with it. I'll be getting one!

Copperthorne is really cool too, but there are some things to bear in mind. It goes on much smoother than I'd expected, not chunky glitter at all, with that really wet-look glossy quality like Pisces Superslick liner from Riri has. I love that. Unfortunately, you have to be careful to just apply it in one pass and don't even think about going back and forth over it or try to smudge it, because as soon as you do, the beautiful wet-look disappears and the glitter starts to come forward and fall out all over. It's like the base that holds the sparkling particles in place so that they make a unified whole is easily rubbed off or rubbed too fast into the skin and then there's nothing to bind the sparkle bits and it just goes all flakey. I guarantee Miss Temptalia's going to give it a bad grade and blame fallout, but you won't have to worry about that if you are very careful and precise when you apply it. Even still, this is for very specific looks, like under the eye or in the inner corners, so that's also something to keep in mind. I reserved one, but I'm a little bit on the fence and may cut it if my total gets too out of control.

Green Room is gorgeous - I never bought Birds & Berries and have been waiting for a color like that that really works for me. GR is IT. It's got a sweet texture too, which is easily applied very opaque and dense and matte, but it's not hard to blend and sheer out, if you want. It's very green on me, but it'll look more bluish on others. It's a try before buy, especially if you have blue or green eyes - you'll want to make sure if the color detracts from your coloring or not.

I want to keep going on here, but I've got to get ready now to go out. There's so much to say - this is a heck of a collection!
