You can't rehydrate an entire jar safely. But you can rehydrate a tiny bit at a time. Just scoop out what you're gonna use for that day's application onto a palette. And like everyone else has mentioned, Inglot's duraline is the best product to use. But do not use what you've rehydrated the next day. Only use it that day and chuck the rest.
Really? I used that method with a half a jar of blacktrack and it has been working fine for probably six months. Why would it not be safe?

Same reason you don't introduce liquids or other mediums into products (shadows, blushes, etc) that they aren't meant to be introduced into. They start to grow mold and other nasty lil things. If it dries up, you either try and salvage just what you're gonna wear just for that day, or you suck it up and chuck it. You NEVER put liquids into a cosmetic, close the lid, and tuck it away. That's just asking for an infection to happen. Same thing applies to mascara. I keep seeing people posting the Beautylish add that promotes adding visine to your mascara when it starts to dry up and i wanna throw up every time

that just sounds nasty....either way nothing should be added to mascara tubes imo

Hmm...honestly, I'll probably do it anyway. I see major makeup artists promoting this method and it has worked for me, but everyone accepts their own level of risk. Glycerin isn't really something that promotes bacterial growth like water does.

MM works, just don't add it to the jar. Mix it with a tiny bit on a palette and you're fine.
I wouldn't recommend a hair dryer. You're blowing dust particles into your liner, and then putting that near your eye. Just submerge the base of the jar into a warm bowl of water. Much safer.

With Gel liners, Duraline will work for months. Its supposed to be used for that purpose, I think. I have used with my gel liners and paint pots and they are still fine....
