MAC - Peacocky discussion

^ katred and Shontay.. yep, I see the colours in Flaunting it too as being very close to others which have gone before for spring collex.

as far as prices are concerned.. I have also posted and exressed my concern in this dangerous price zone that MAC is now crossing. It will be a sellout collex nevertheless simply because they are selling new technology in a powder product -- different from previous ES and different from existing piggies.
That said, I know many are confused when I speak about texture - it is not something easy to see in swatches, on a monitor or even on the face of the pan when you look at it.. it is in the FEEL of the product that you will feel the difference.

After this type of ES is introduced and sold by MAC it will change the expectations of many who are saying that the colours are either ordinary or not in the stratosphere of rocket scientists.. this is one product line you will have to feel and touch in order to really appreciate it.

for me its been about the texture all along. even at times the colors are totally different than what is on the computer screen. you really have to check everything out in person, if you can.

As far as MAC and releasing so many collections at one. I hope they let up a bit one day. I see more and more supposedly "sold out" or "hard to find" products at the CCO each month I go and that can't be entirely great for business.

Temptalia has done a couple of looks using Peacocky. Thought it might be useful to see how some of these colours go together

ugh yeah I also hate the high MAC CAD prices considering the strength of Canadian dollar, really really irritating. I need to shorten my list a bit anyway. I need to cut down to 2 e/s and 2 l/s or even less if possible. I find myself more drawn to the lighter shadow shades in this collection like Prance and Dalliance so those are prob the two I'll end up getting. Woo Me and Love Peck l/s also are still the two that speak to me the most outta all the lippies.

Btw, I'm back to work today and totally dreading it. I got only 3 hours of sleep :/

wow after seeing a look done with these shadows I am considering noir plum again. I am such a sucker. Also, I am looking at dalliance because I am wearing shroom for the first time and I love it. I like these kinds of colors on me. I called my pro store again just now and they said they'll have it tomorrow so I don't know if I should go or just order online.

dalliance interests me only because her greyness raved about it so much, what were the other shadows she loved? i cant find it back in the pages?

Quote from HerGreyness (I saved it as a reference for myself lol) "the standout ES for this collex are: Odalisque, Dalliance, Sexpectations, Unflappable (all 3 of my testers were stolen), Noir Plum and Ego"

I'll probably be skipping the eye shadows because of the pricing. Even though the Canadian dollar is virtually at par with the American dollar, the e/s are $4 more here in Canada. By the time the 13% tax is added on, that makes it out of my price range. I wish these had been regular size.

Paparazziboy thanks for both the swatches and the dupe list.

I've tried the soft matte lip cream and really liked it. I got Tokyo, it's very pretty. I haven't tried the Kissables yet so I can't compare but the texture LOOKS similar and NYX has been ape-ing everything out there lately... we'll see.

You're not alone, I believe that i'll be getting just 2 items, 3 at a push myself.

Although LovePeck isn't what I was expecting, I definitely will get it and Noir Plum.

Off Topic slightly, has anybody tried NYX Soft Matte Lip Cremes?? The product sounds a lot like Kissable Lip Color.

I keep wondering if these eyeshadows are so special and magical why is it LE? if its a new formula and its all great and dandy, why so limited >_<?

I think I will only get prance, I like that color but dillance seems easly replaced by somthing similer.

love her swatches!
i have really high hopes for woo me and enchantee! the swatches confirmed that i'll probably only buy one or two of the eyeshadows. i'll definitely get unflappable, i think it's the most unique color (at least i don't have anything like it).

Thank you for letting me know about Karla's swatches. Reading her descriptions of the colours, it's funny how people's descriptions can vary.

Having almost convinced myself I don't need Top Of The Posh, it's back on my list, and I have added Temper Tantra to Flaunting It with the lippies. Guess I'll just have to cut out something else from one of the other collections instead.

I was debating about Termper Tantra, but after seeing Karla's swatches, I'm pretty sure I'd never wear it. I'm tempted by Strut Your Stuff, but I think I'm holding tight and I'm only going to get Love Peck and Flaunting It.

karla's descriptions are short and sweet. i like her style, i just want to see the colors, and seeing them in daylight is nice as well. reviews with dupe and skin tone recommendations are not the best cause in the long run, everything is different once you see it in person. i can do away with mostly that.
