MAC - Peacocky discussion

I picked up Ego and Mating Call. I don't have a colour like either so that made it an easier choice. Dandizette was pretty but I don't wear blue a lot and Dalliance was gorg but I already own similar shadows. Noir Plum had been at the top of my list, especially after the swatches but I was so disappointed. It was a run of the mill purple when I swatched it. :(

yes, deep truth for me stinks, its a gorgeous color but so hard to blend and once you blend you lose the shimmer. Not with this baby, this is BEAUTIFUL!
You should get it :)
Are these new eyeshadows amazing enough that it would be worth it to get Dandizette if I already have Deep Truth?

Hi girls. Long time no chat! Missed you all!! <3

I just placed my first order for this collection, but I know I'll be going back for more once I get more moolahs. Anyways I got the Peacocky lipgloss (I couldn't resist it for the photographic possibilities), Noir Plum, Ego, and Odalisque shadows. The swatches look lovely..... I can't wait to wear them!

So, I may have to get Tweet Me after all. I put Let Me Pop over Tweet Me (since TM is what I wore home from Macys), used Feline on the top lash line only, then did a very fine lining line just above Feline using a beautiful warm chestnut brown liner (Givenchy), then in the crease & above - Victoria's Secret shadow in Coco - OMG it was so pretty!!!!
So then I just got in the mail, the new JCrew catalog & saw this picture - which the es look above looks almost identical. I also think this look would be Gorgeous on WOC. It may just be finding the right base to make it pop.

I love doing the 'double lining' thing - its so pretty!!!

I went by the counter on my lunch and ended up with...

shadows:

Peek-at-you
Top of the posh
Noir Plum
Centre Stage

Also picked up Enchantee and So Vain glosses. Elegant, I agree that Enchantee is a pale Lady Gaga type pink, at first I passed on it. But then I mixed it with So Vain and it was so pretty! The thing is, will I go through all that trouble on an ordinary day?! I need to play around with it, mabe with some liner and see.

I may also need Vanity Fair gloss! I could see this being beautiful in the summer months.

Overall, I wasn't wowed by the colour selection of the shadows, it feels like I've seen them all before. Dalliance was really pretty, but the MA there brought up a valid point that Peek-At-You is more versatile, especially with the colours I picked, so not sure if I'll get that one. What I really would have liked is a real deep plum colour, since Noir Plum is purple.

I do like the formula, but not sure if I like the bigger pots, I have yet to finish off an entire shadow with the smaller pots!

:) yep, I did really like Peek-at-you! Aww, it was a tough decision on the glosses because really, they are all pretty. I think that if I hadn't love Scandelicious so much, I may have ended up with Enchantee.

I can't say enough about how much I love the tone/color of Vanity Fair on my lips! And, it is staying put! They really really last. I had coffee & ate lunch & its still there - & not all over my coffee cup

I use deep truth only as a liner. IMO, DP is also a good crease color. Dandizette is a good lid color as it is more than a shade lighter than DT. As I previously said, on my skintone (neutral light-medium) it presents as a medium grey-blue. Definitely not a must have unless you need or don't have this color or are a big blue e/s wearer. The only difference this blue has going for it is that the texture is smooth & creamier. Now, having seen it swatched on an NC45, that's when it really pops. All the colors really popped on an NC45.

Cannot wait to be done with work and go to MAC store to check out these babies:)
I am very excited! Do any of you find Prance simular to Relaxing eyeshadow? Relaxing is like my favorite of all times and I think Prance looks like it.

Are there any awesome ladies out there willing to post a pic of Peacocky on their lips? I've seen all the hand swatches and it looks like in the official pic on the MAC website the model has more than one color on. Black box day tomorrow though! :) Thanks in advance.

I know this isn't the Cham Pale Collection, but that link is pretty much now dead. Anyway, when I picked up my e/s today, I was totally surprised that they had 1 Chilled On Ice PP left. Why was I so surprised? Because I was there when they opened the store that day & Macy's (in a major mall) only got 6 in. I couldn't believe that they only got 6! Well, I bought 2, so that means only 3 more sold! Wow, I am surprised!.

Went to my counter today. The MA told me that they only recieved three of a lot of the shades. Sexpectations was one of them. I'm pretty sure they will be sold out by Friday afternoon.

Well I had to go to my counter at lunch so I could peep these shadows in person before purchasing. Special shout out to Shontay and sss215 for great reviews for WOC and Devin for those swatches.

That's really the only reason I was interested in them at all since I'm really way more of a lipgloss hoarder than eyeshadow. On to my review:

Anyway, I knew I would probably get Spectacle of Yourself. I was right. That bad boy is gorgeous on. It's the reddish bronze I've been looking for. So smooth and so pigmented. I was concerned if I could wear it alone and I will say, it great all by itself. Just a pop of color on my chocolate skin. It will be great for days I want to be more dressy but don't have the time or energy to do a lot of shadow.

Tweet Me also came home with me. I wasn't expecting that. The MA helping me made me try it because she thought it would look good on my skin.

On me it's the most gorgeous peach that has multicolor shimmer thoughout. I told her "I really wish you hadn't shown me that because now I must own it." It's not so bright that it can't be worn to the office, but it certainly stands out. I'm so happy I got that one as it will be used a lot.

As everyone says, this formula is amazing. I haven't owned a MAC eyeshadow in years since I prefer the pigmintation of UD, but they brought it this go round
dothewave.gif
(dang I've been dying to use that wave smiley). I have my eye on Ego and Sexpectations, but maybe next payday. My counter was dead, so I suspect they will still be there. My lip colors are sitting on my front porch as I type, so I'll post about them tommorrow.

Man this was long! This is my first real review other than "love it!" so I apologize if I got carried away. Happy hauling everyone!

Jenn.. we most certainly try to be bad influences..

that's the thrill of getting old and nasty..

Layla and silent.. money comes and money goes.. when you are young you can substitute lots of products for what you were lemming... when you are older you don't have much choice -- but you will have a lot of time to work, save and enjoy.

Thanks and yea as much as Id like to get some things from this collection but cant I am not going to flip out or cry over it its just makeup and my kids come first before anything. Other products and colors will come out and I am sure we will see these again at some point so if I cant get any now then that's fine.
