Did any one get the 215 with this collection (not a previous release) and notice that no matter how many times you clean it there is a black color (I assume the dye) washing out? I've deep cleaned it 5 times and it's not letting up on the black dye rinsing out. I've never had a MAC brush bleed (only experienced blush bleeding once with a bDellium brush I got at IMATS, which the company replaced after I contacted them to ask if it was normal).
I bought the 215 from this collection and I haven't washed mine yet. Today is wash day, LOL. I am curious if it bleeds, but will let you know.

Thanks. I cleaned it when I first opened it because I noticed that it looked dirty (assumed it was dust or lint). Saw the black when cleaning so allowed it to dry and then cleaned it again. Repeated the same process 5 times (all deep cleanings). Held off on contacting MAC because I thought it was something that would clear up after a few cleanings.

I've been away for almost 3 weeks, with very little access to the internet, so i missed this launch. Now i'm on the road home, finally checking in from a rest area in Iowa - they ALL have FREE WIFI! I won't be home for a couple more days. I confess, i don't think i'll manage to read 12 pages of messages about this collection - not to mention the thousands of messages in all the other collections - i am SOOOO behind!

1. Can anyone point me to swatch highlight messages? Very few are in the Swatch board.

2. What are the most interesting colors? Pink Pepper looks intriguing, but it's sold out on the MAC site...

3. Any recommendations for me? I'm between 15 & 20, neutral. i wear mostly light and some medium colors; i very rarely wear dark eye shadows.

I have a couple from the first release, including Sweet Acting, and i found that i get little to no fall-out when i used Too Faced Glitter Glue.

I'll be glad when i can catch up - as much as i can - on all the collections!

I have this problem with my 227 brush, but it doesn't bleed once it's dry. I've had it for 3 years or so and it bleeds with each wash, but I just wait until it's fully dry and it's fine to use again.

I haven't washed this brush yet, aside from precleaning with brush cleanser before using (which should be done with every brush before using the first time), and it's completely normal. It's just the type of dye used for that lot. It's not holding as well as the other dyes used for the other brushes. Once it dries it won't bleed, and doesn't affect how any product applies. While it's wet, just don't lay it next to any white hair brushes, as the dye will transfer onto them and stain the white hairs black.

Tried out pink pepper this morning with a little beaming in the crease as well as charcoal brown for a quick look. Not sure I'm sold on it. It's very coral on me... Just a bit of stereo rose for blush, mascara and no lipstick yet in this pic...

Will it always bleed? I always deep clean brushes before their first use (habit) but I've been lucky I guess. This is the 1st MAC brush I've ever had a bleeding issue with. I'm not overly concerned with it...was just surprised by it. I did notice that when I tried it to apply a shadow wet it did slightly affect the color of the shadow (just 2 mists of Fix+).

It'll taper off which each washing and it will definitely do the same when using with fix+. There's no saying that it'll stop after 10 washes or 5 washes, as it varies with the dye lot, brush size, density, etc., but just use care when washing and using the brush.
I really like it on you! Did think it would be a bit darker so that's a bummer.
:agree:

You will love Pink Pepper if you can find it - it's like the awesome super gilded pink shadows of the olden days of the 80's.

Vanilla Diamond will be up your alley too - it's very smooth, although it's also quite close in shade to the pale champagne shadow from Marilyn.

Personally, I looooove Damson and Black Grape - they're not too dark, but they're definitely on the darker side of medium, so you may want to double check in person.

I finally was able to get some of that purple tone out of Damson - by using a brush to apply wet, rather than my usual silicon applicator/dry. I'm glad I can bring out more or less of the purple if I want. I also compared it to Golden Gaze MES and it's very close - GG just has an obviously black base, rather than the more complex base color of Damson. Damson is definitely the winner out of the two, though, which is saying something, since GG is one of my all-time favorite MES.

My 227 has been bleeding for years too, as well as my 109. I swear I once had blackened cheeks

even though the brush had been washed 1.5 days prior to that incident.

I wanted to let you know that I cleaned my brush yesterday and I didn't experince any bleeding. You may want to return it to MAC.

Like i said, it's not a defect. I have brushes 15+ years old that bleed. They still work just as good as the ones that don't.

Sephora jumbo eye pencil in brown glitter as base, damson all over and greensmoke on outer third and bottom. Love how it can look brown, green or even slightly purple!
