MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

Thank you so much for the photos! I can definitely see the difference with Spitfire and I actually think "Bustfire" is really pretty. I just don't think I'm capable of turning my back on a perfectly good purple lipstick. It's not in my DNA. It's funny too, because over a liner, it does look sort of similar to Up the Amp, but on its own, I find it looks quite different. I can see why they'd look similar in swatches on the arm, but on the lips, the finish makes all the difference.

So I'm still mulling over this one and I'm still considering Hibiscus, because I know my window to get it won't be very long and I don't want to end up regretting passing on it.

I got Sun Blonde the other day, I love it, love it so much! I did a look with it the other day...I combined it with........purples! Yeah purples! :eyelove: it looked so nice, will post a couple of pics if I can get in front of the lappy over the weekend. If anyone wants a swatch on nc20 skin, do let me know! I also got speed dial l/s and truth and light powder...omg...truth and light is my new staple ;)

I just called my local MAC store....there is no way in hell I can wait to until the 27th to get my hands on all this loot. I know it will go online long before then but I'm on the fence about so many products [just like most of you

]. I was digging on my Paradise esp. but after watching a youtube video on it, I'm not so sure. The girl said MAX you will get out of the gold overspray was 8-10 uses, maybe a few more if you use it "sparingly". Yet Temptalia said that the overspray "wasn't going anywhere" and that it would last quite awhile. Gah....decisions, decisions!

I checked out the collection today and only got 1 thing! Hibiscus was reeeeeally pretty, but just too bright for me, so I got See Sheer l/s instead. All of the shadows were super pigmented, and I may go back for Sun Blonde - it's a really interesting goldish mustard colour. In the end I only got Blue Noon eye pencil for my Mum as a present :)
I checked out the collection today aswell - never purchased anything else because nothing else was calling me. The eyeshadows where pretty but realistically I know I would never wear them (just like Summer Stash... *sigh*) And Bust Out is waaay too purple to suit me! I was considering the small handled 126 though as I need a small brush to carry in my bag for touch-ups but not surethe brush is the same quality as the big version :/

IMO I think the overspray will last much longer than 8-10 uses unless you scrape it off! It is quite thick so I kinda agree with Temptalia :)

The overspray will definately last a lot longer than 8-10 uses. It's quite thick and you only need to use the tiniest of amounts. I don't like oversprays but I'm not worried about this one - it'll be there for a long time yet (and I intend to use this blush a LOT

Agreed. The flower pattern stands well proud of the surface of the blush.

yeah i think out of all the mac products with overspray this blush seems to have the most 'topping' which is a good thing!

Thanks for the input! Yeah, when I first heard that I was just like, "Whaa?" It seemed pretty thick. So, Paradise is back on board.... And so begins the fight with myself over the Studio Careblend Powders :D

xsparkage mentioned on her website that the bronzer sticks are very similar to the NYX Tango with Bronzing Sticks, just in case some of you guys want to expand your options.
I actually have one of the nyx sticks but i purchased a highlighter one not a bronzing one.

I wore my Surf baby goodies today. I had the surf the ocean pigment stack on my eyes, Hibiscus on the lips, gilty bronze and my paradise on my cheeks. Now let me tell you this, normally blusher doesn't last on me all day. but my cheeck combo lasted all day!! I don't know if its the bronzer stick or the formula of the cheek powder but my blusher didn't budge and the colour stayed intense and did not fade! I am SO impressed! From surf the ocean stack, i wore Graphite on the lid, Bronze on the lower lashline and the silver on the inner corner of the eye. Unfortunately my camera didn't pick up the colours correctly but they were more vibrant in person.

I think that I finally have my final list for this collection, or at least it is my final list for my first haul.

Definately getting (unless I see horrible swatches or really bad reviews before the release):

Sun Blonde
Surf USA
My Paradise
Hibiscus
Ocean Stack

I already have saffron and the lg from villians collection, so I don't plan on getting those. I was contemplating a saffron bu, but I can't justify it.

Here's some nail art using Ocean Dip; I copied the hibiscus logo of the collection. I found a hibiscus image in one of my Konad plates. I used Konad special polish in red for the image. I added some 2mm rhinestones. It's been two days and I haven't seen a chip in my manicure yet. :)
