MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

Wow. I have never been so apprehensive about buying something from a MAC collection (or any other brand for that matter) simply because of how butt ugly I thought the packaging was lol I guess this will be one of those "If i'm at the counter and something catches my eye i'll get it" collections where I don't plan on getting anything as of right now. Lets all hope the big fall collection doesn't disappoint as much *crosses fingers*

uhm Wonder woman and surf baby packaging is not that great of course the most important thing is the product itself but if there was a super cool packaging I'd probably buy more stuff!!

I like the packaging. Its fun and goes with the "Surf Baby" theme. The WW packaging was right on time too!

This better be one hell of a collection. I have been so disappointed with Mac lately (Peacocky and a couple single items being the exception) so I want something mind blowing for a change.

I'm with you. I think the packaging dovetails nicely with the surfer theme... I loved the outer packaging for WW, not so much the inner, but it has humour value...

I like the packaging, reminds me of high school when all I wore was Roxy and Billabong.

I really hope it's not coming out in April. I thought the summer collection was usually out late May? I'm especially hoping it stays in May since release usually falls on or right before/after my birthday, so more monies for MAC.

Luckily the only thing that's really catching my eye is Hibiscus, been looking for the perfect fruit punch red / VG Cyndi replacement (wore the thing to the nub hella quick, poor thing) and I think Hibiscus may be it. Time to buy 3! It also helps that hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers and teas. The Beach Girls blush looks intriguing but I have yet to come even close to making a dent in Ripe Peach and Marine Life, and among those and Sunbasque do I really need another orangey-corally-pinky blush? Especially as I don't have the monetary freedom I had before?

yeah i used to wear lots of the surf brands when i was at school. no clue why because i have never even touched a surf board! lol! i just liked the brands because everybody else did i think!

Well Lou I am tired of orange. I was just so hoping for a bright color and the shadow still reminds me of Liberty of London. I don't think I really hate it. I just think that they could have done better. I hope when I see the packaging in person I will like it. Of course what's inside is much more important.

oh yes i think they could have done much better too. but you are right - it's what inside that counts!

i just had another look at that awful allglam site - is it me, or are the two blushers [the stolen pic, and the one superimposed on the promo image] the exact same?

i do like the look of the coral eyeshadow though

I liked the WW packaging, I think there were some great products from WW too. Even after the bad reviews, I picked up the Defiance palette, the MA did my makeup with it and it turned out great!

Nothing has impressed me with this coll yet I had high hopes, hopefully we'll get a full color story soon. But thats ok, my wallet will be happy, esp after QC

I don't mind the packaging, but I can't make up my mind about this collection or quite cute until I see it swatched ON ME! Not even on temptalia's site.

I liked the WW packaging also. I thought it fit the whole theme very well. I wanted the green palette but I was afraid I had dupes except for maybe one of the e/s and then the bad reviews I just didn't even look at it. I like the blush and lippies I did get.

I really want a color story on this fast. At least i can kind of get a feel for what I might be interested in and then await swatches.

I really like the packaging on this! I like that it's white (I loved GMLOL packaging!), and I like the whole theme of beach, and flowers (I'm from Hawaii). I really can't wait to see all the products for this one!
