Here is a comparison of Shimmermoss (L), Surf USA (c), and Parrot (r). [I apologize for the quality of photos b/c I am a novice at this.] One photo was taken in natural light outside & one under artificial light. All shadows were swatched over UDPP. It took about twice as many layers of shimmermoss & parrot to get the same amount of color as a couple of layers of surf usa. To me, surf usa looks a lot more on the green side as compared to these two. Parrot & Shimmermoss look the most similar out of the three.

I know temptalia said shimmer moss but I don't think they're dupes at all.

i did indeed get surf usa! well nick bought it for me actually. i love it and i am the girl with loads of teals and i still don't have a dupe! it's really pigmented, easy to blend and very pretty! for a frost it does not seem frosty to me at all!

wow surf usa is nothing like shimmermoss... thanks guys! im still not lemming over that oclor thank goodness...

I think i am starting to become numb to mac.. its scary and wonderful at the same time lol.
my list has stayed the same since the first time i heard the color story... swell baby, hibiscus & refined golden (i know its perm but i wanted the special packaging)

I was thinking about the bronzing sticks but i got my hands on Nars Malaysia multiple and I am head over heels in love with that bronzer!!!

Your are welcome. Surf USA is definately different from Shimmermoss & Parrot. Plus Surf USA has a heck of a lot more pigmentation than those other shadows. I actually like Surf USA the best out of these three.

I may end up getting a back up of Strange Potion... I have mine since VV but I just wore mine today over Maybelline's Color Sensational lipstick in Totally Toffee and it gives my lips this plump, pouty look... love!
If I do buy it, it will be the first product that I have ever backed up... and kept.

If Temptalia says something is a dupe, then she thinks it's an exact match. If she calls it a substitute she just means something along the same lines in case you can't buy the other product. Totally didn't make it to pro today. I know I'm getting old because only the old folks in Jersey hate going to NY. I can wait for it to hit online or just go to the 10 million Mac stores and counters that surround me. Thank goodness for that. Hibiscus is my only priority, but I would like to play with Surf the Ocean before it disappears forever.

Ah- I think I want Surf USA again even though I don't wear teals! What's up with that?

I've decided that I actually won't order online and just show up at MAC about fifteen minutes before they open so I don't miss out.... now I just have to decide whether to go to the counter or the store.... Hmmm.... I'm kinda thinking I might make a custom quad if I only end up with Hibiscus, so maybe the store is better.
