MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

Oh ladies ladies ladies....if only you knew what happened to me today! I went to Nordstrom's to get foundation samples, and I ended up getting a little made over by the nicest girl at the Nars counter. We got to talking about Surf Baby and she asked if I wanted her to hold anything for me to pick up on the 25th [!!!] I of course said yes, and told her what I wanted. We debated a little about the Studio Careblends [I was really excited to try them, she hated them] when finally she just said, "Oh, let me just go pull one from the back so you can take a look. We already have them in, just not on the floor yet. In fact, would you just like to see everything?" My jaw DROPPED and we went to a little area near the stock room and she pulled out the ENTIRE Surf Baby collection for me to swatch and check out. The products were brand new and no one had touched them before. We had so much fun playing with the colors, and I am so glad I got to check everything out at my leisure, without a bunch of MAC die-hards fighting me over testers first thing when its released!
*Le sigh* Today was amazing....I'm so glad I was talked into having her hold the tan tint bronzer stick! It's truly amazing, and I think it'll blend a lot nicer than the Studio Careblends. I was surprised at how hard those were to blend...once they're on, its like they stay put and don't blend. Or maybe I'm just a n00b at contouring.
Oh and like the day couldn't get any better....my mother's friend gave me a BRAND NEW MSF, Petticoat, one that I've wanted for so long, because she didn't like the way it looked on her skin. Used once, in the box and errrythang. Magical day!

Nordstroms will have this collection available on 5/25 at the MAC counters (not a traditional Thursday release). It is available for the start of the womens sale. I got this info from the MAC manager at my local Nordstroms.
This may also be true for other MAC stores. My friend said she heard this (about the other MAC stores & counters) but is not 100% sure.

I'll be really mad if chunks of this collection are sold out immediately. I'm still bitter about refreshing the site when Mickey Contractor was launching in hopes of ordering before bed. Then the next day/later that day(ie launch day) almost everything I wanted was already sold out. If Saffron sells out again before I can get one I may grind my teeth until they crack as I pay some ridiculous markup on ebay for it
Blue Moon I'm interested in mostly because I apparently lost or threw out my Undercurrent liners (probably last weekend when I also threw out 4 things I should have stuck in my back2mac container but oh well). I know it isn't the same color but I don't have anything remotely like this now that they're gone. I have no idea how I did this but I did throw out a couple of makeup bags because I have tons, and maybe one or both was in there. I had bought one pencil, and then when it was listed under the 'going, going gone' section of the site and I was ordering some other stuff I picked up a backup since it's so unique. I'm REALLY aggravated, not just for losing them but also because I was so proud of myself last weekend, all "hey look at me throwing out makeup that's completely dried up/spoiled/whatever"
Someone please tell me I'm not the only one that's lost or accidently thrown out much loved LE stuff.

I finally found it after 2 weeks, but I was freaking out b/c I knew it was d/c & sold out everywhere. Not a fun time lol

I would have been freaking out too, glad you found it! This gives me hope. I'm still kicking myself for not following up with the Cyndi lipstick. It was sold out when I went to the store and bought Gaga (which looks hideous on me) and the bag (got the last one!), and I just planned to get Cyndi later. Well, I kept forgetting and when later came it was all gone. Ah well. More of a lipgloss person anyway.

^^^ Call me crazy, but I also considered purchasing 1 of the pigment stacks after I heard they were one of the first items to sell out. And I didn't even want them when swatches were first released. I think its the hype that's getting to me lol

I know I was considering both of them because my MA was stashing them both for me if I wanted them, but the only one I knew I'd use was Surf the Ocean so I'm resisting getting them both, even if I can.

Nah. You gotta fight the temptation, ladies. I've been there, done that and it's not worth it. If you want to buy both stacks because you love them and will use them then go for it. Otherwise, leave it alone.

Thanks Shontay . . Keep talking sense into me! I dont even use the pig stack from SCF and I have both of them, ugh ! I have fought the temptation for My Paradise off. Im able to say im passing on that and my mind is set. I just need to do the same for these pig stacks.
Maybe I will just order online and not even go into the store, that way I wont be more tempted if I am able to swatch these.
I do have a list of MUFE items I want so maybe I will chip away some of that list, I dont have any Aqua creams yet and I want to pick up a few.

I wanted Surf the Ocean for a bit because those colors are up my alley, but I don't like using loose shadows too much and the colors aren't so unique that I can't do without them. I have too many eye products already. We can be strong! Yes, get some aqua creams because they are amazing. I need to buy someone of their liquid eyeliners.
