MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

Just got off the phone with MAC CS. My Hibiscus lipstick is still on back order. How can this be? I ordered very early on before the collection fully hit the site. Others who ordered around the same time are getting theirs. I am so disgusted with this.
Keep checking. I just got an tracking number for mine this morning at 9:30am. They send it out yesterday, after the holiday, so they probably just updating slowly. Keep the faith, girl and good luck.

I expected it to be more orange on my NW20 skin, but it looks very very natural. I did not dig into the gold yet, but used a 188, which is small enough to only get the coral. Absolutely lovely. It's huge, so I don't think I need a back up.

BTW, what products did you back up from Surf Baby?

THIS! is exactly how mine looked. I did a chat with MAC as well as took it back to MAC. They all said the same, it probably melted.. because of the "unique" consistency. The MAC Trainer was on site and she checked other ones and they all looked the same.. so, common info I got it, "This is normal"..
its still weird though.
It is really odd! I'm glad I'm not the only one who experienced this.
I wrote customer service, and this was their response:

"We can see what you are seeing with the Gold Crush Metal Pigment, the pieces of pigment in that particular shade is a lot chunkier than the other shades. The item is not defective, the pieces can be broken up into in a finer powder if you crushed them with a mini spatula."

But the formula isn't powder or chunky! It's liquid like, and won't crush up.

i don't think i'd be happy with that response! it is obviously harder to use now and although a few people have had this issue it doesn't make it right - maybe you could call them and speak to somebody?

Got one more of Gilded White and Blue Noon. I tried out the bronzer stick (again!) but the color seems to be very similar to the Careblend bronzers, thus I left it for now. Apparently, the bronzer sticks are not selling as well as anticipated by MAC (according to the MA).

I missed my crushed metals! The UPS man left a note on the door. I just got home after he left, apparently. I could spot him down the street. I called the 1800 number, but they said he can't come back. It was too far for me to run. He would've left me in the dust. I am so tired of UPS. Why was he here after 2? I always get my stuff between noon and 1:30, when someone else is home. :getyou: I really wish Mac would start using FedEx because each driver knows me(because most of the other sites I order from use FedEx). Apparently, there was a new driver today. So pissed. I am concerned about my metals melting. It was sooo hot today! I should've just swallowed my rage at the Macy's mix up and just exchanged. See, rage gets you nowhere. :eek:hboy:

Same happened to me today. UPS tried to deliver at 11:37. The building manager where I live is on break between 11:30 and noon, and of course, UPS did not come back. Sigh. Why don't they keep track of availability, especially if it is a huge building. I mean, they have to come back anyway, so why not try to get it right the first time?! The result is that I have to wait for Surf USA another day.

I was sooo torn about Blue Noon - what do you think of it? One more GW -

[/quote] My thoughts exactly. It's such a hassle when it shouldn't be.

Blue Noon is definitely more sheer than I anticipated. It swatches more opaque on my arm than on my waterline. I have used it now on my lower lashline. I also "sandwiched" with Gilded White (apply GW first, go over with BN, and then GW again). It's a beautiful summer color and I just had to back it up. Surprisingly, GW has more staying power than BN, but maybe that's just me and my love for GW.

I still wish that GW would last longer on the waterline. Has anybody tried to set it to make it last longer?

My goodness Surf USA is a-freakin-mazing!

WOW you guys wernt joking about it being pigmented. And it has this awesome glow to it, anyone else notice that? I'm def going to be using this a lot for the spring/summer! It's the perfect balance on teal and green. Cant wait to get the green mufe aqua cream to put under it.

I also got the Surf the Ocean stack, it is way easier to work with than the pink/purple one I got from SCF. I patted some of the seafoam green over Surf usa and WOW! Then I put Stars and Rockets (how did I go for so long without this shadow!) on the lid with it and another wow. I used 3 of the colors together and it didnt look bad like some said, if you use the colors lightly you can use the colors together. Just as long as you dont over do it.

I'm Happy with my two items.

Now its time for Semi-Precious whew hoooo!
i would love to see a pic of that look!

Yayyy! So today I "finally" got to see the surf baby collection in person today (yes, I'm incredibly late -_-) I was actually kind of bummed at first because I was expecting everything to be wiped out! But that wasn't the case. I first stopped by the counter in Macy's and was happy to hear they had everything in stock aside for the my paradise powder. That was ok, I needed to save that 30 bucks for the super cute dress I ended up buying :-D But I only walked out with a couple items. I bought the strange potion lipglass which I missed out during the VV collection and of course the hibiscus lipstick. OMG girlies and guys! I am really in love with hibiscus! I have nw15 skin, blue eyes and red hair(naturaaal), and this is the perfect red I have ever tried!!! I love how it's vibrant yet subtle on me at the same time. I'm actually thinking of getting a backup! I'm quite pleased with this collection, I might (MIGHT) go back and snag krazy kahuna too ;-) I really hope everyone gets their backordered/failed delivery goodies soon!!! It's such a bummer for things that should be so simple to turn into such a huge mess!!! :-*

YES! I used a 187 with mine because I was terrified of how it'd look with all that gold. It was SO pretty and wonderful and gave me a pinup-girl flush :) I love it and can't wait to work it into another look! I'm NW20 as well.

In combination with the Careblend Lush-light as an all-over bronzer, MP gives me a slightly sunburned tan, a look which I absolutely love love love.

<==== perfect smiley for MP cheek powder. I have to try it with the 187 tomorrow.
