Any powder that contains oil controlling ingredients will do.

I've been using Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil and its been doing a CRAP job haha... I get oily within about 2 hours so I'm thinking of biting the bullet and buying MUFE HD powder..... I do have MAC Blot pressed powder and that really helps take away the shine but it comes back a few hours later. I LOVE the way the foundation looks and feels though...I'll do what it takes to make this work! haha

I would like to report that I have been wearing Studio Sculpt for a week now and I haven't had any breakouts! All other MAC foundations have broken me out, so this is a good sign. =)

Also, I've noticed that this foundation is quite amazing when paired with silica powder. I have the Coastal Scents version, and when I wore it with MUFE HD, i'd still get fairly oily during the day and i was starting to think that silica powder was just all hype. But since i've been using it with studio sculpt i've really noticed a difference! Maybe its because studio sculpt is so thick that the oils haven't got a chance to surface and break though? lol! all i know is that i'm pleased!

also, for the oily girls out there - try skipping your moisturizer in the morning. i'm not sure if this is commonly known, but i read about this tip and its really helped me. i just use prep and prime underneath my liquid foundation, and it really helps to keep the oilies at bay. primer and foundation have a lot of moisture in them as it is, so a base moisturizer isn't really necessary if your skin is already oily!

I'm still intrigued by the foundation, but I need a good blotting product because I cant stand shine on my face.

I recoment using a blotting paper or powder paper firts to blot the oil and then any powder you want to use. I really didn't find that much difference with MAC Blot Powder of Lumene NC pressed mineral powder and Lumene NC is way cheaper too

I like the brush...it has the accuracy of your finger without needing to use your finger

What I mean is, I have never found a tool better than my finger to apply concealer, but some people don't like to use their finger b/c it can be oily or whatever...and certainly if you're doing makeup on someone else, they may prefer you not using your finger, right? This does the job though.

I like the Translucent Powder a lot, and if I'm not mistaken, BN isn't too expensive either (I don't know prices b/c I bought a student kit with it in there). It's made to work under hot stage lights, so I imagine if you're looking for a sturdy product, this is a good one!

I use the Clean & Clear blotting sheets, but have to take back the foundation and concealer unless i save it for the summer when I am more tan.

I got NC35 in both and maaaan, outrageously dark on me. To me it looks like a more yellow version of my Shiseido natural deep ivory foundation.

It felt okay on, little heavier than I am used to, but it was okay. I like the gel formula just because it stays put. I'll get some pics up when I can find a decent light.

Haven't decided on the tube and pot's fates yet, though.

Thoughts:
Studio sculpt is pretty oily, but I'm out of blot powder and stuff. Uh, I guess it's too early for me to say anything as I just tried it tonight. It stays on and the color match for me isn't bad, which is quite rare for me (haven't seen it in daylight mind you).

It's not a bad finish though, seems a tad cakey, but who knows, I'll try it tomorrow with a fresh face. Off to bed.

I bought the studio sculpt foundation today and just tried it once but i'm already loving it!

It is creamy, fresh and hydrating. I have a little oily skin but with MAC oil control lotion under and a little bit of light loose powder it's just perfect. The colour matches my skin perfectly and the finish is ultra smooth. I also have a few signs on my face (like a couple of tiny acne scars and not very small pores
tong.gif
) but it covers everything perfectly without looking like i'm wearing a mask.

I also bought the 190 brush with it and tried both applications (fingers and brush) and i think that with 190 it's just better, the finish is more flawless and smooth.

I tried it with the redhead MSF and finally i have the glowing healthy-looking complexion i always wanted but couldn't reach...
Love this stuff <3

But please, don't try to get the silica powder from Coastal Scents, thinking that it would be cheaper or what... Yes, they are both pure silica powder, but they aren't milled the same way, and super fine silica powder, if inhaled, can cause some serious damages!

I recommend also Sephora radiant loose powder. It isn't a blot powder, but it takes away the oily finish all day long and it hasn't got that hard-powdery finish...it gives you matte but flawless skin. The packaging is with a brush all-in-one, which can be bad for someone but i think it's very easy and fast to use also for touch-ups, and it doesn't cost too much (15 euros in italy, i think 10 to 15 dollars in USA).

I work in an organic chemistry laboratory in university and when we use silica powder we always wear masks...so be careful with it!!!

Sorry for double posting! I thought the post would be put automatically together with the first one since it didn't pass so much time!

I think it looks gorgeous on you. Just the perfect amount of glow.

From what my MA told me (i'm an NC) if I need the concealer for under eyes I should get NW if I need it for my face (red, scars ...) I should get it in NC ... I don't know if it's the same case with NW ladies

The idea is that generally blemishes are red, so NC shades with their yellow base will be better for counteracting that and covering them up. Circles are usually blue, so the peachier/orangier hues of NW concealers are better for those. Whether your skin is overall NC or NW doesn't make a huge difference.

However, I say, if you are NC get NC for your face, and if you are NW get NW for your face - otherwise, you might end up with weird looking spots!

I guess I'm the only one who doesnt like this foundation though I was so hoping to love it
ssad.gif
This is not sold in Turkey yet (just in case anyone wonders, it won't be sold officially until March. I was the first one to use the tester) I have combination skin, nc30, nc30 shade worked well in terms of matching my shade but the foundation didn't set on my skin at all.. It was cakey, although MA applied it with 188 :/ He applied it veery lightly, but still..
ssad.gif
I was so disappointed.. The look was so foundation-ish, was not natural at all. I was jealous of people that look flawless with this foundation :p Anyway I still have to admit that the coverage was awesome even with light application and it didn't go oily or greasy around my T-zone (which gets oily super fast). I will continue using my Studio Tech, I tried/buyed all MAC foundations and get the best results with it so far.

I was able to get a sample and I'll hafta play with this a little more. It's not quite covering my dark circles, but I also didn't put much on because I think the NW20 is too dark for me right now. I'm also thinking I may want a more yellow base to help with the dark circles, so I think I'll go back and have them try the NCs on me to compare.

I have been wearing this all day, and it's love so far! I have Normal-Dry skin and it's perfect! I have a few fine lines and it sinks into none. Hopefully no breakouts occur, but usually I know by the 2nd application so we will see.

i stopped wearing it for now to see if my skin calms down a little. i'm hoping it's just hormones and not this foundation that's wreaking havoc on my skin!

I have been wearing this foundation for a week now and I am really impressed. It feels so light and has such a flawless finish. I have been using Smashbox's Photo Finish primer, the foundation, concealer, and then a light dusting of MSFN. It holds up really well and I have gotten a lot of compliments on my skin looking great.
