I know, trying to be lazy here and not visit a store!! But I do see what your saying here, never thought of that.Maybe try it in person. Nudes are always tricky, though a frosty one can come in handy as a highlight.

I never bought a frost lipstick. (Except a lavender-blue one when I was 15/16, LOL! It was a crazy shade, I used to layer it over other l/s.) But never a MAC one. Maybe this will be my first since then, I'm definitely interested. I'll wait for swatches to see how frosty exactly it is.

I never got Lust, but I had Grid for a long time. I'm not even sure what happened to it. It was a great colour, unlike any purple I've seen before or since. I also loved Jet, which was a semi-sheer, frosty gunmetal colour. And Force, which was a bluish silver. I miss when Mac used to have those sort of fringe-y colours in their permanent collection just because that's who they were.I have quite a few blue-violet lipsticks and i'm always happy to get more! Some have frost, some don't. I'm just a pushover for blue-violet lip products.
Back when MAC was new in town - in the mid to late 90s - i got:
Lust - highly frosted pale blue violet (black cylinder tube)
Grid - frosted dark blue violet (silver bullet tube)
They still smell and feel OK. It'd be nice if MAC'd bring one or both back... I suspect you'd like Lust - sounds just like what you're asking for.

Psst... Haven't found dupes for most of these shades, but if you want something that looks like Jet, Morgana Cryptoria "Gargoyle's Glance" is quite similar- it actually has a pinky sheen that makes it even more fascinating.Katred! I'm literally drooling right now. I really wish MAC would consider re-promoting some of these amazing shades or maybe re-vamping them in some way.

I keep trying to post the pic that was sent to me in the pr email but it keeps going all weird when i upload it at work. i shall do it tonight I'm honestly not excited about this collection yet... nude lips for me aren't that exciting but we shall see what mac comes up with
Aaaah that explains it. I turned 35 in June. Around that time my eyes began wandering. Now I know whyI agree. The target group for MAC is getting younger and younger, while the 35+ generation is certainly looking into other brands.
I hope this isn't true. I turn 35 next year in October and just got into collecting MAC lol. I like MAC b/c it has a younger feel to it and I honestly don't feel like I am approaching my mid thirties. Plus, it's more affordable than the rest of the department store brands. Maybe I'll just have to be in denial and then I'll appreciate MAC longer lol.Aaaah that explains it. I turned 35 in June. Around that time my eyes began wandering. Now I know why
LOOOOOL! I sent MAC so many e-mails about this. I have never gotten a single reply xDThis makes my blood boil when I see it, probably more so with Mac because they're a Canadian company. A lot of companies grossly exaggerate the differences between countries, having established those differences when the Canadian currency was valued at well less than the US. Since we've been right around the same for about 5 years now (with one temporary dip), I think they need to revisit those prices. It's true that taxes and duty can be higher here than in the US, but it doesn't account for the huge percentage difference.
Virtually all cosmetics companies are terrible about this. Guerlain would be a noticeable exception- their price (while high) are less than 10% more in Canada than in the US. Lush charges the same price to both countries last time I checked. Nars are higher, but not grossly so for the most part. Mac, Chanel, Nars, Armani, YSL (especially bad) and Bobbi Brown are all horrible gougers- companies that build in extra margin by claiming the exchange and import fees are higher than they actually are- as are a lot of brands available through Sephora. It's infuriating.
Yes, I've noticed that they either delay or ignore when they don't want to give people bad news. I think the bottom line is that they can't excuse the price difference when other companies are able to keep much closer to the American prices. (Not to say that Mac is the worst, but there are certainly better.)LOOOOOL! I sent MAC so many e-mails about this. I have never gotten a single reply xD
