i think you can still purchase even if you didn't preorder. i'm not so sure. i might have to go to my local Nordstrom and ask.

That sounds odd to me. I preordered a Patternmaker e/s palette last year and when I went in to get it... I also bought a Patternmaker lipglass with no problems. Perhaps that dude should have said that some things might sell out in preorders, so you wouldn't be able to purchase them when they went on sale... since there wouldn't be any left to sell. That makes a little more sense than what he said...

i'm a knitter, so this whole tweed bag with yarn strings on it is my theme. and that promo pic! i need to find similar yarn and knit myself a scarf like that! i can't wait - 16 more days for both my brush sets and kabuki brush.....now how do i hide this from the fiance (shame on me - i'm suppose to not spend since we're getting married)

yarn and makeup!

OMG I know what you mean! I'm a knitter too, and I have to have those bags! Only thing is, I'm so broke right now.

So if I already have a full sized 266, 219, 217, and 239, would it be better to get the Basic or the Pro brush sets? I think I can only swing enough for one of them

oooh, that's a toughie. (i don't have the money either since i'm suppose to be saving for the wedding....but when i saw the pictures of both sets, i really wanted them.)

i was going to get the 219, then saw that it's in the Pro set. The 187 in that set makes it even better, and also the 168. 187 skunk would be good for blush (and some people use it for foundation i think) and 168 for those days i feel like contouring.

but then the basic set - i already have a prescriptives foundation brush, but to have a travel set is just too cute. I don't have a 166 angle brush, but i use my Trish McEvoy flat definer brush already to apply eyeshadow to the lower and upper lash lines. (and pro set already has a flat definer) i guess i don't really need the basic set......but it's soooo cute.

and the mini kabuki 181SE - i just want that so that's why i'm getting the pearlizer.

i recommend looking at what you need right now - do you need skunk brush for blush and contour blush? then go with Pro set. but it you need blending brush, shader brush for packing on color, foundation brush, then go with basic.

i know i probably wasn't much help. i hope i get a job by august so i don't feel so guilty about buying all this. but if i had to choose for me, i'd go with the Pro set.

i might have to buy the 2 eyeshadow palettes. i'm going to purchase them when the collection comes out. don't want to pre-order them. i might change my mind later.

I'm having so much trouble deciding on whether or not I will actually get any use out of this collection. As far as the pro brush set goes, I own all but one (full size), and the basic brush set - the only ones that I don't have in full size, I don't really need. Sure, they'd be great for travel, but I just... I don't know. Hah. How different is the quality compared to full size? Are they basically like... the cheapy version? :p

The palettes look pretty, but most of the colors didn't seem that special to me. I'll probably just wait until I can see them in person to decide for sure on that though.

I know I'll cave in on the pearlizers though.

Is there a chance that some of the items from the collection will be available at CCO'S??

Have items from Nordstrom exclusives been at CCO's in the past

Yes, yes, and yes.....At the CCO I go to in Destin, FL, they had several items from last year's Patternmaker collection -- including the es palettes, lip products, blushes and fluidlines. I believe this was in March of this year I saw them. Some CCOs may have gotten them earlier....So yeah, about 8 months after the launch, they were available at the CCOs.

Anyone spied the actual paint pots at Nordstrom's yet? I didn't see them with the presale items for NT, maybe they're just being released with the actual NT release date? Or is my Nordie's fallin down on the job? =)

They are out at my Nordstrom! Just ask one of the MAs at yours if you can see the paint pots. If the pots aren't out already with the Novel Twist items, hopefully the MA can head to the back and pull some out for you to look at (and hopefully test!)

ok, i stopped by nordies today - and wasn't too impressed with the Basic brush set. the 224 tapered brush didn't look tapered at all - i asked the MA if it's suppose to look like that or if so many people have played with it already and made it all poofy. she said she wasn't sure. great help, huh? so i decided i'm going to cancel that from my pre-order. i already have a foundation brush, so nothing appeals to me from that set (maybe the angle brush...but it's not enough to make me want to get this set.)

oh, and the pearlizers - now i know why they're called that. definitely pearly. i really don't think i'll use this - but the kabuki brush is soooooo darn cute. and the Pro set did still look good to me.

Thank you so much for the info!

I really needed that. I wasn't sure which brush set should I get and now I don't think I need the basic brush set. I'm just going to per-order the pro brush set, the cool pearlizer(do I use this as a blush?), coral lip pallete, and e/s pallete.

*Hey girls I need help with the e/s pallets, which of the e/s palletes should I get? Thanks!
