if you have the long handle brushes, do not bother with the sets unless you want them for travelling. quality of their short handle brushes are way worse. especially for the dense and firm brushes.

usually mac release short handle sets twice a year, in july and october (for xmas)
hth.

EDIT!

the paint pots look awesome... but i wonder what they look like irl... i'll have to wait till the 20th when it comes out in the store near me :p

Everyone has been talking about the quality of the brush sets... but I'm wondering if anyone has had a chance to play with the baby kabuki yet!! It's marked as a SE brush, so I'm reaally wondering about the quality of that one- though I'm getting it anyway since it is just toooo cute to pass up XD

I picked up my pearlizer set on Friday and played with it a bit yesterday (in a rush, during a wedding!) along my decollatage and found it to be fairly well-made, not like the other brushes in the sets. I found those to be quite poor, actually, altho that could be just the testers they put out, but the mini-kabuki tester is of much better quality than the other brushes. I got a brush set with Tailor Made (2005) and those seem much better. I'm still using those now and their condition is still great!

Does anyone know how pigmented the Paint Pot in Delft is? I saw swatches and in some it looks pretty sheer but I've never seen it in person. I really hope it's not too sheer since it seems like an alternative to A Bluer Blue eyeshadow....

I was worried about it since I can't view them in person afterall... but I knew I'd be kicking myself for not picking something so cute up!

I thought it was MUCH more pigmented in real life. Which was sad to me lol...I thought it might be a faded steel blue-gray color, but it's a lot like Bluer blue. You can blend it out sheer but it's got good color payoff. Lots of sparkle.

Cool! Thank you so much, sounds like it was made for me!

This won't exactly answer your question, but for me (at The Bay, in Canada) I paid at the counter at they put it on hold for me. Specifically, I paid for a gift card with the exact amount of the set, they kept the gift card with my receipt, name and number on it and on the release day they swiped the card when I came to pick it up.

^ Yep, I picked up my stuff on Friday. Sorry, I didn't think to give people a heads up, I was wrapped up in my sis's wedding. =T Before then they only had the sets out but now the glosses and paints are out too. Only 5 of the paints, but I didn't get a chance to note which ones except for Delft.

I bought Gadabout, which is exactly what I wanted in a bubblegum-coloured lipstick but in gloss form. Anytime I tried a l/s in that colour it looked cakey on my lips, so this gloss version is perfect! It's what I was looking for in Fun Fun but I didn't get to try/buy it, so I'm glad I've got Gadabout. =D

Yesterday (Sunday) I asked to have 1 of the paint pots (Stray Grey) cancelled from my preorder after seeing the swatch on here and was told it can't be cancelled because preorders "have already been processed". When they are not shipping out until Friday I think it's ridiculous that I can't make a change. . I won't be preordering from Nordstrom again.

Woo hoo - I bought the two brush sets last Saturday at the store!

They had the paint pots out too, but those are permanent anyway.
(had a dark grey, dark metalic aqua....bronze..)

The pink gloss they had, had a very gold undertone to it...

That seems weird, I thought that you could cancel up until the 18th.

Do you mean Gadabout? Because that looks very bubblegum pink to me, with blue undertones.
