a fan smacked her on her behind and she said don't make me have you escorted out now or something like that
Ummmm...not to single anyone specific out, and please no flames, but why is it okay for certain folks here to order like 6+ of each color lipstick? How is that fair to all those that always seem to miss out on these limited edition items? I mean, I get that some are CP's and some are BU's or whatever but MAC can't tell the difference between those people and ebay folks ordering to resell at outrageous prices. Which is why I can appreciate that they at least tried to limit items this release in an attempt to make things more fair. Granted they did a terrible job of it, and a lot of customers have the right to be angry, but I do understand what they were trying to do. Just my thoughts, not trying to start any debates. It all just feels a bit hypocritical sometimes. :eek:hboy:
I said i ordered 7 but 4 were prior once we found out MAC was cancelling those i had to reorder. most people on here buy for CPs or just buy backups. I was trying to buy for my family who couldn't take a day off to deal withy the MAC debacle... I tried order 3 sets but lets see how that goes. But honestly on regular collections when they don't have a waiting room, if I miss something it's kinda like "you snooze you lose". Idk I'm not somebody who will buy $80 lipstick on eBay but I know some people do. JMO

I agree... and honestly, I don't get the whole buy 2, 3, 4 backups of anything. they almost never get used and end up in the clearance bin.
it's cool for those people who missed out... but perhaps they wouldn't have missed out if ppl weren't buying 10 of one product.

I went back to the Mac Times Square store last week (an unexpected trip b/c I actually hate going over there) and they still have 2 boxes of RRW. It's available online still, so whatever, but I wonder when they'll finally unload all of it or what they'll do if they can't. I bought four of them and I don't feel bad about it one bit.

A lot of people are buying for other people who couldn't make the launch or were afraid to miss out. ESPECIALLY since this was at 12pm...the middle of the work day, not very nice for those people who are working during the day. Others may be makeup artists who want those for their kit and for themselves, some CPs etc

Although I do agree that it would be difficult to tell if they were an ebayer or not...I'm not sure of the solution for that problem

I don't know about anyone else here but between myself and Hubster I have 8 nieces. Only 2 are of working age and are into makeup but do not make enough money to buy cosmetics. But I do. So if I want to treat them and buy the whole damn stock, I should be able to without anyone giving me a hard time about it. Yeah ok MAC cannot tell the difference between me and an Evilbayer but that isn't my problem.

Also I should be able to buy BU's of my HG lipstick that happens to be in demand, oh well not my problem. This is the problem with MAC. Limited Edition is NOT the same thing as Limited Quantity. No other brand seems to have this problem, now why is that?

So now we shouldn't buy backups because someone else personally doesn't do that?

I buy BU's ALL the time, not of everything, but certain things that I find I love on myself.

The limited edition/quantity issue is something I've been raging about for a long time. So many items from other brands, highly coveted items, are around weeks or even months after it's release. There's no stressful rush to go get it. Shouldn't the tables be turned? Mac is not high end. You'd think the exclusivity would come along with true high end brands. RRW is my second favorite red of all time and that's saying a lot. Red was my signature color before I got into coral. I don't have backups of many lip products at all and the ones I do it's only one backup. I am going through all 4 RRW's. Can't tell you when, but I know I will. I've already put a nice dent in the first one.

Yep, They way that ls looks on you, you should own 100 of them.

I just found last years Dior Petal blush a couple weeks ago it was limited but was still around - I bought 2 of those because I love it on me so much.

The only thing that keeps me from cutting ties is how much I love my MAC boys and MAC girls, as well as fellow MAC addicts. They are truly nicest people. As for RiRi fall, the packaging looks cutesty and a bit cheap... I can definitely come up with something to love in Chanel or Edward Bess instead of getting maced in-store on RiRi MAC launch day, or having MAC Online hold like $200 of my cash in pending charges.
True that! I love my fellow addicts!! Especially my snarky ones lol you guys crack me up always! I'm hoping its not just riri in fall? But I'm dying for that dark color I will have it! These not so much.
I don't know how I feel about the fall release, I was interested in the lippies even though they are in the hideous packaging and I really would like the RRW lipglass, but after yesterday I'm afraid to even order perm stuff! I just hope it isn't another fiasco like this summer release. If so I am DONE with anymore online exclusive releases because frankly:
Lol I know the online only releases suck AND it messed up everything else! I ordered something not riri and I still haven't received shipping notice
Did anyone see the incident about Rihanna's concert. A fan pulled on her arm, trying to grab her and Rihanna whacked the fan with her microphone. No offense to Rihanna fans on the boards but I'm kind of glad I didn't get her lipstick now. Lol According to the news, She also showed up 2 hours late to the concert. Hmmm...
LMAO I would have face palmed that bitch!!! Do not touch the merch crazy!!! I've heard of her showing up late a few times but a lot of big stars have done that. I wonder why? Are they getting drunk or what?

TRUE THIS!!!! If I want to buy 5 of one color who cares! To say oh you won't even use it is like me saying, look around your house. What are you never using? Don't ever buy it. I work for my money and I'm a firm believer in its your money spend it how you want. I honestly don't even think that many make it to ebay. What 30? Max normally? Lets be real mac is to blame not people who buy a bunch. SNS

Ohhh lawd... I just think when it comes to backups, how many you buy...it's a personal choice and just because you might not personally do it doesn't mean others shouldn't. I don't always buy BUs but if I want to, there's nothing wrong with it. First come, first serve... Blame mac for making so little not your fellow consumers

I think MAC is stupid for even implying that Specktra played any part in this mess. If the big wigs at MAC have 2 brain cells between the lot of them, then they would've made this collection available for 3-6 months based on the response to the last RiRi launch. Everybody could order back ups, cps, etc to their heart's content, it wouldn't be as lucrative for ebayers because everybody will have had time to buy what they wanted from MAC, and MAC would still be cashing in big time. Everybody would be happy but they refuse to get off this furiously, spinning hamster wheel of LE collections and hype. I have no interest in anything from this collection but that's my two cents for what it's worth.

I've found so many "limited edition" lipsticks from Chanel just by browsing the counter. That's the way it should be.
