I noticed recently we had a "what are your top 10 Mac products" thread and I thought it would be really useful to see what are folks "Top 10" drugstore handy little bargain products?
Off the top of my head, here's the drugstore/bargain products I'd personally recommend, not quite a top 10 cos there's 13 but they're all real value products and every one is cheap as chips.... I'll put the price I paid for each whether it be in UK £ or US dollars just as a rough point of reference...
Face
-----
- NYC Perfect and Reflect Quad - 2 handy concealers, a e/s base and a highlight - about £2.99 in UK
- Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Dolly Pink - about £3.99 in UK
- Pure Luxe blush in Nymph... glittery peach, a copy of Orgasm - $1 for a generous sample
Eyes
-----
- Rimmel Volume Flash mascara in black, it's not quite Hypnose but at a fraction of the price it's pretty damned good. A bit messy, but hey so is Zoomlash, and it's great volumising. The waterproof and "extra black" formulas are not as good as the original. - about £4.99 in UK
- Fyrrinae loose powder shadow in Digital Faerie, superbright turquoise with green sparkle, a really unique and fun "bright" - $1 for a decent sample
- Collection 2000 fast-stroke liquid eyeliner in waterproof black... great little budget liquid eyeliner with a surprisingly good applicator - short and stubby, easy to use and precise, this is one of my HGs - about £2.09 in UK
- Milani single shadow in Java Bean: shimmery dark bronzed brown, great pigmentation - $3.49
- Milani single shadow in Classic Beige, a superb highlight colour with a smooth and silky application - $3.49
- Stargazer is a cheap and nasty "gothic" makeup brand that's in the main, best avoided, but their false eyelashes are great value for money and there is an outrageously large range, from natural to TOTAL theatrical, and I think some of their feathered sets are positively a work of art - £1.99 to £3.99 in UK
Lips
----
- Collection 2000 plastique lipgloss in Pink Opal - a metallic taupey-pink that's very wearable, this gloss also has a lovely sweet taste and smell, a bit like violets - about £2 - £3 in UK
- Rimmel full volume lipstick in "Screamer", a nice solid bright red with a slight nutty undertone to it, creamy texture and lasts well - about £3.99 in UK
- Stargazer (again) lipstick in 106, which is, quite simply, the brightest pink I've ever been able to find - almost like dayglo fluoro pink - not the greatest quality lipstick in the world, but the colour is absolutely unique and always gets me compliments when I wear it - it is WAY brighter than my two favourite MAC pinks "Impassioned" (which I think is the Mac lippie it's most like), or "Girl About Town"....This lippie is so intensely pigmented with hot pink colour it looks red in the tube! - £1.99 in the UK
Nails
-----
- Rimmel 60 seconds in "Zeitgeist", a plummy pink which has a really interesting bronzey-green pearl sheen to it. - about £3 in the UK
So what little uber-bargains do you gals use? C'mon, share!
