Exactly, the shape of it is very different than the 224 because of the tip of it I don't feel like you can do your crease with the 224 like you can with the 226. For example, today I was in a hurry & all I had to do was put a little color on the end the tip, dab it in my crease & stroke back & forth & it was amazingly blended in a really short time.
I also was lucky & got my BBR brushes from Nordstrom during the mac.com F&F sale so they sold me everything with the 25% discount, so I didn't have to think too hard about getting 2 226s & 214s.
I really think it would be stupid of MAC not to make it a permanent brush
