I am going to the event tomorrow so if it's not too busy I will do swatches. If anyone wants me to grab anything for them PM me....

I'm also annoyed that swatches haven't popped up yet...I'm very much "search and destroy" when it comes to my shopping, especially when going to an event as crowded as S3/C3's will be. Luckily I'm typically first in line, so hopefully will be able to get in and get out. I'll also try and get some swatches on my arm for y'all when I go tomorrow.

Yeah, I really rely on swatches since I'm so far away from a MAC counter of any sort. I unfortunately can't drive 1.5 hours to get any of the collections so I buy everything online. I also need to budget =D. C'mon swatches! I'm so pumped still about this collection. I wore Optimistic Orange the other day to get me in the mood to shop shop shop.

I buy most of my stuff online too, so I am also highly swatch-dependent. The local MAC store isn't far away (half hour) but I work really long hours most days and can't get there before it closes most of the time. Parking is also a bear in the area.

I have gotten down there for new collections at times but half the stuff is sold out in the first day or two and I usually will miss items I want. It's a big hassle.

Without seeing online swatches I'm actually less likely to buy anything at all as I don't want to take the risk and blow money buying something online that really won't suit me.

I'm getting pretty good at guessing what I'll like and what I won't - in several years of online purchases I've only had to return 2 things (one because the color was just really horrible on me and the other because the product was really dried out).

I'm lucky, too, that Christine at temptalia has the same skin tone as me, except I have blue eyes. So I can take a good guess of how something will look on me just by looking at her :).

Just another shout out for anyone in Toronto who might be interested in coming to the event at Eaton's tomorrow. =) Even if you can't get anything (like me! =X) free drinks and hors d'oeuvres are hard to turn down! Hopefully I can snag some decent swatches tomorrow. Apparently it's getting pretty full.

So, quick Q. Do the MUA/SA's at MAC work on commission? I'm considering having the girl I go to hold my stuff and having my husband pick it up and buy it from her on Thursday rather than buy it online.. Just to help a girl out.

(my husband and I live 3.5 hours apart while I work on my degree at one school and he finishes his at another.. haaaah)

No commission but her personal sales are tracked.

I was so happy to get a confirmation call on Saturday for tomorrow's party. I was tempted to call to make sure they had me down. The funny thing is I got a reminder email today to rsvp for the party. Mac has really stepped up its game. Can't wait to see the collection.

Just got my confirmation call, and was annoyed to find out that my local store won't accept B2Ms for the lippies even though they're not in special packaging, just special boxes. Boo!

Still going to get Watch Me Simmer and Hush, Hush, but that'll be it. Maybe I'll pick up Pillow Talk and (finally) Brun with my B2M stuff then.

I wonder if that applies *everywhere.* I was hoping to do a Back to MAC trade to get a backup of Runaway Red.

I have developed a thing for quads lately so I'm interested in seeing these in person.
There's been so much talk about quads in this thread that I started a whole new one, solely for the purpose of discussing the merits of quads vs. singles.
I've never bought a quad, myself, though I was pretty tempted by one of the Cult of Cherry ones.

Back to topic: I initially determined to pass on Quick Sizzle, since I already have soo many bright pink lipsticks, but I passed on Pink Pigeon from Iris Apfel, and now sort of regret it.
If I limited myself to buying a lipstick only when I have nothing even remotely like it already in my collection, I'd either be buying really off-the-wall shades like grey, black, yellow and bile green, or buying great-on-some-but-death-on-me shades like peach, brown, or orange.
What's a lipstick addict to do?

Maybe you can try and B2M at a different store. Or even try it at your local store. The rules seem not only to vary from store to store, but also from MUA to MUA. Anyway, good luck! I hope it works out for you!

I got my confirmation call yesterday and I'm so excited!!

QueenOfSnark: Yeah, my MAC FS won't accept B2M's for the LE lipsticks, lipglasses and eyeshadows even if they are not in special packaging either. That's why I only B2M for permanent items now on.
