Thanks for this - all be it a bit late for me

I have a supposed golden olive with one of those weird funnels on it - I always suspected it was a bit odd as none of my others (all genuine thank goodness) had anything like this - nevermind I hadn't even tried despite buying it a few years ago till tonight and low and behold my hand started to tingle. It was way to long ago to do anything about it but I've learnt my lesson now thanks girls x

Clear Sky Blue ?

Does anyone know where I can find info on the real vs. fake clear sky blue pigment? I recieved a jar in a swap and cannot tell if it is fake or real but the color is so easy to wipe off I think it may be fake. I don't have a camera so can't take pics.....

Thanks so much,

One quick ? My mate pro pigments tend to be 2.5g as opposed to 7.5g. My Clear Sky Blue is marked 7.5g, should it be 2.5g????

Hello everyone...

I was hoping I could get you wonderful Mac counterfeit police on a case for me please?!! I have purchased a Chartreuse pigment and a Crystalled Lime glitter from a seller on ebay. The sellers name is 'pistol7272' and they have a 100% positive feedback. They seem to sell a lot of Mac pro pigments. All of their feedback comments are great, but I am still not 100% convinced. Here is a link to the Chartreuse auction... Mac cosmetics pigments eyeshadows 'Chartreuse' SALE! on eBay (end time 22-Aug-09 15:45:44 BST)
And for the glitter...

I have taken a whole bundle of photos of the pots and boxes that I can post to show you more. I just don't want to put these products on my face if I am not sure they are legit.

Here are pics of the Chartreuse pigment...

(I have taken the photos with Golden Olive (authentic mac store bought) pigment next to them as a comparison (Left, Chartreuse - Right, Golden Olive) But I am aware that as Chartreuse is a pro colour there may be legitimate differences.)

My main concern is that height of the MAC logo on the front of the jar. I one of my photos I have shown a picture of the possible fake Chartreuse in between 2 mac bought pigments (Teal & Violet.) The Chartreuse has the logo set slightly lower. Is this a sign of a fake, or are all pro colours like this??

And here are pictures of the possible fake Crystalled lime....

Pleeeease let me know if you think these are real or fake! I think they are lovely, and I am mostly convinced that they are the real deal, but I don't want to put them on my face until I am sure there is no rat poison in them!

Here is the feedback for the seller I bought them from.....

eBay Feedback Profile for pistol7272

Help me please counterfeit police!!

Thank you so much!!

@Reegz - I'm not a MAC expert on this but I really think that Chartreuse is fake. It looks just like pigments on the photos few posts above. And as I recall right, genuine pigments don't have any kind of paper inside the box.

What? Since when didn't genuine pigments come with the paper inside? I mean, I have lots of pigments now - and most of them have the paper/disclaimer/whatever inside the box, also the ones bought directly from MAC.

I read that somewhere, obviously was wrong

Anyway, about the Chartreuse pigment jar - it looks the same as those two pigments on the previous page.

Some pigments come with the paper insert, some don't. Unfortunately I'm not sure why not all of them do.

When you say that the Chartreuse pigment jar looks the same as the two fakes listed earlier, what are you referring to? Pigment jars are either made in Canada or in the US (maybe other places too, all I have is from either country), and they don't look the same on the back. The alignment is different, and so is the font and size.

This Chartreuse pigment has the centered alignment (please see the pic I posted above a few posts up.)

I don't have any of the other centered allignment jars to compare it to. I only have the ones from UK stores and they are all left aligned.

Sooo confusing!!
