MAC Metal X 2011 Discussion

The crease issue is whats getting me to not want them. But what about setting with a shadow to help with that?

Use P+P powder to prep your eye, followed by a p/p, and then apply a thin layer of Metal X with the 239. Set the crease with a powder e/s to extend the wear.

I ordered Palladium today, I hope I'll like the texture. Can't wait to play with it!

That's probably a good decision :) I shouldn't be spending any money on makeup right now too, but I'm really curious about these e/s, so I wanted to try at least one. I hope I won't regret the purchase.

Here's a (bad, because it's with flash since it was already dark) photo of Palladium. Next to Dalliance, Vex and Chanel Epatant for comparison.
Not much of a help I guess, because of the flash, and the swatch pics I took turned out useless too, but that's all I could do today :(

Can't really say much about weartime etc, just tried it real quick. I'll have to test it over the next days.

Thanks for the pics Naynadine, Palladium looks a lot nicer than I expected.... So far I thought the colours too natural or warm for me. Cannot wait how you like the wear of them.

I find it rather odd that this collection is already out here in Europe

Why is that odd? Collections come out at different times in different countries. Surf Baby was also released a month earlier in Europe than the US release.

Apart from Surf Baby we usually get the collections at least a month after it's released in the US. Just a bit curious to why this seems to happen every now and then.

the summer collections usually happen sooner in europe...probably has something to do with the fact that spring and summer arrive a bit earlier...

i think the timing of the winter collections in north america has a lot to do with people's spending patterns and when they are out shopping (e.g. boxing day)....could it have some similar correlation in europe?

I'm so out of the loop when it comes to MAC now, but these look intriguing. Venetian Tarnish and Gold Carbon are definitely on my want list. Depending on price though I may just get Gold Carbon...been looking for a warm-ish taupe FOREVER.

My guess as to why Metal X has come out now in Europe is that Gareth Pugh is so ridiculously expensive that MAC felt they had to put out something that people could actually afford to buy.

I want you to work for MAC. What a simple solution! I would LOVEEEE all these colors as Paint Pots! You're hired!

The olive and the taupe look gorgeous, but I'm worried by what I've heard about the formula being bad. I never tried the old Metal X shadows. If only MAC would make Paint Pots in those colours!

It is actually really simple. Normally we here in Europe get collections the following month. Although in some cases, a collection comes out everywhere during the same month (this happens always in May and June). Every country seems to have a specific monthly release day, like the 1st (or is it the 2nd) Thursday in the UK, or the 1st of the month. That's why we get some collections almost a month ahead (like in May). However, this is the first it happens in December (during the past 2-3 years), usually there's nothing between the Holiday collection (Nov 1st) and the January collection.

That seems to make sense then

However, the press release stated that the collection would be available internationally in January...I just got a little bit surprised that it was already available online a few days ago since there has not been much word about this collection among the Swedish makeup bloggers.

Yep Metal X was supposed to arrive in January so it's normal to find it has been already launched a bit weird imo ^^ Here every store does what it wants -_____- some place get Gareth Pugh in the middle of december, others in january... If every store all over the world would release collections at the same time would make everything a lot easyer XD but I don't mind if collections are released a month after Usa (it's better for swatches!!!)
