Thanks! They're a good distraction for me right now. Much more fun than thinking about the hurricane that's headed here.

How often do colors in Chanel quads overlap? Like is a pink, gold or brown color in one quad usually very similar to a different pink, gold or brown in their other quads?

Taking meds now for my back and visiting a specialist every two weeks, so hopefully i will feel like my old self again really soon.

Oh what happened Liz? I must have missed a post of yours.
A few weeks back i woke up with major back pain, and i'm still suffering from it

Carrying around my 9 month old daughter all day long probably doesn't speed up the healing process lol (my she's getting heavy

), but i'm trying to manage.

Oh no. I'm so sorry. I know what it's like to have really bad back pain, and it seems to take forever to go away. I hope you feel better soon!

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you get plenty of rest so you'll recover soon.

I got the Variation quad as a gift from my mom today :) I have yet to try the quad on my eyes but i must say that i fell in love when i swatched these on my hand

I definitely see myself using this quad also during the holidays, the micro glitters in these shades are just stunning. I'm really happy with it

Well, turns out that US Variation looks very different color-wise from Cafemakeup's swatches of the Euro version:

http://cafemakeup.com/2012/06/25/chanel-variation-eyeshadow-quad-swatches-review/

The upper right shade is straight up light grey (not taupe) and the lower left is a boring light brown without any rosiness to it at all. Even the eggplant looks prettier in the Euro. In the US the "eggplant" is more of a purpley plum, not as deep, and not as much red in it. I may get the Euro version. It's not that it's a terrible quad but if you are after the shades in the Euro version you will not get them with the US one.

Wow really?!

I know you ladies get the shadows in another (better) formulation, but i assumed the shades would be the same. That really blows

I hope you'll be able to get the EU version of the quad then, if you need a cp for it just let me know.

Thanks Liz. I may just get it from Izzy's Beauty Shoppe online if I end up ordering the baked version of Ultra Rose later this month. The baked and powder formulas of both the e/s and the JCs can differ in color somewhat. Narcisse blush for example was cooler-toned in the baked formula than in the powder. Rose Dust was more mauvey and less brown in the baked version, etc. I much prefer the baked in those 2 JCs because of the colors, but I only wear them occasionally because my skin doesn't love the formula. lol You can see here how US vs Euro Turbulent were a little different from each other too:

Maybe they can't use the exact same pigments in different places or in the different processes for some reason, or maybe the same pigments react differently to the different processes. Who knows.
