MAC Après Chic Collection Discussion (December 2012)

Liba you've helped me so much on my decisions but for some reason im still scared! Lmao! I would really have to go in to check this out but i wont have time to just visit the mall again for a while so if its still in stock ill check it out. Cozy up is what i wanted yash from the mickey contractor to look like on me. I find it looks better than siss on me also because of how warm the color is. I just love it. Its the perfect peachy nude (besides my favorite freckletone lol) i feel like i can sex it up with dark smokey eyes and a bit of clear gloss on top lol Haute Altitude isnt so much the pinky nude i was looking for (wanted a more opaque version of hug me lipstick) but its still really really pretty. Its still neutral enough for me to wear it everywhere and with anything. Alpine bronze like i said befor just makes me look healthy lol idk what more i can say about it. Its just devine on my skin. It doesnt look so orange like it does on temptalia but i guess its cuz im darker than her lol

A close dupe for Pro Longwear eyeliner in Mountain Air is MUFE Aqua Eyes in 12L:

Top-- MAC Mountain Air

Bottom-- MUFE 12L ( MAC MA is matte while MUFE 12L has more sparkle )

FYI----When I removed these with the MAC eye MU remover, MAC was the toughest one to remove! Needed a few more swipes for MAC MA.

thanks for the swatches! it's odd that christine didn't find these held up on her eyes. i wonder if it has anything to do with skin type?
i might try the navy or the teal one out to test the formula on my own eyelids since they're super oily. i don't mind if my eyeliner isn't toootally waterproof, if it makes it mildly easier to remove at the end of the day. the liquilines were a bit too long wearing for me.....

My goodies came! I love everything i got except for strong woman which im a little blah about. I think for me heroine is so much better. Haute altitude and cozy up im so happy i got and alpine bronze just makes me look so healthy when i apply it on my cheeks. I love it! Ill go into details later since im kind of busy now. Swatches will be up tomorrow though

do you have pressed amber blush from semi-precious? if so, would love to hear how you think they compare...

No problem! Yeah, I saw her review a bit ago and listen....I put MA on under my eyes when I got home today, just to check the shade out. Tonight I rented and watched The Odd Life Of Timothy Green, and of course I shed a few tears.

Well, MA didn't budge! I swear...

Also, I have a MAJOR weakness for purple eyeliners...Always pick them up.

BUT I had no problems passing up Snow Shadow after swatching it. UD and MUFE have much better purples than that. Even MAC's Designer Purple and Rave look better than Snow Shadow, IMO...

Its ok. Maybe ill warm up to strong woman after playing around with it longer i only tried it on my lips once very quickly. Ive been running around all day lol I used to have pressed amber and they are nothing alike. AB has more warmth to it and shine. I saw very fine glitter in my room lighting (not like super sparkly but i saw it ) pressed amber was more brown and not as glowy (for lack of a better word) as AB. Pressed amber is still pretty in its Own way though. But the two are different. Hope that helps!!

I can't believe you skipped the MES. Did you get either Cozy Up or Warm Companion? What about the MB Alpine Bronze or Amber Glow? They look a little too orange to get love from me, but I'd love to be convinced otherwise...I can't believe Stereo Rose is still in stock either, this is just crazy.

The stand-out products are the PLW liners and Hot Chocolate.

Stereo Rose was ueber metalic and far too orange. It will look great on NC30 skin on a Caribbean vacation, but not on a pale NW complexion. AB and AG were also wrong for NW15. They showed up as an orangey leather brown, which again, is nice for mid-tone NC complexions, but not for me.

You know me, I only buy if I will actually wear the product (and then I need BU's). I don't buy into the hype or if it clearly doesn't suit my skin tone

What I liked a lot about HA is that it wasn't one of those nudes that is so light it looks like concealer or death lol. I think it's the amount of pink in it that works well. I might back it up and I only own a back-up of one lipstick.

Thanks, I'm glad! I'm much lighter than you are, but I think we have similar amounts of yellow undertones in our skin. Alpine Bronze doesn't read orange on me at all, either. On the other hand, I couldn't wear Earthshine MSF at all - just looked like dirt on my face. Don't do Warm Companion unless you get to try it out first, but I wouldn't be too scared about it being too light if you love the way Cozy Up looks on you.

You should try Alpine Bronze with your Strong Woman l/s - maybe adding that extra oomph and brightness to your skin will bring out the character in SW. It's more on the murky side of magenta for me too, which I like for some looks, but it definitely looks a little snappier with Poised or Alpine Bronze/Amber Glow combo.
