I wandered into sephora yesterday to get the NARS Bouthan e/s duo (two shades of pink) and the Corcovado Soft Touch Shadow Pencil (24 K gold) and ended up not getting either (i've got a lot of pink and a lot of gold eye stuff), but i DID pick up the new NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder compact.

It is elegantly packaged. There's a neat little soft black fabric - with the NARS logo woven in black - pouch that folds over and an attached black elastic to keep it shut. Inside are two pockets. In one is a moderately large NARS matte black rubber compact with a mirror in its lid and in the other is a very very thin white rectangular applicator.

I'm not sure if the compact going to work for me, though. I wear antioxidant serum and moisturizer, and as i am patting the powder onto my face the applicator picks up some of the skin care product, and when i put it back on the compact for more powder, there's some transfer. I'm concerned this could ruin the powder. I'm going to test it for a few more days, and if my fears are proven to be the case, i'll exchange it for the loose powder.

While i was in sephora a young woman kept sticking her fingers in the tester compact and swiping over and over, trying to get up a load of powder, and then looking at her fingers and not seeing much. I confess i butted in and explained to her it was meant to be sheer and colorless and just provide a soft diffused finish. She looked skeptical...

Thank you! I did read your posts in the other thread but I remember you said you needed to try it more. Are you still leaning towards the loose? I like loose powders more, but I prefer pressed for on the go.

Erinmichelle - How would it look with the pink on just the lid & the caramel color in & just above the crease?
It would actually look great! That's pretty much what I had going on before adding show stopper, except I had the yellow shade on too. I am going to do the pink and Carmel only on my next early morning work day for a quick look.

I have to know what you think of the Bouthan duo!!! I bought Via Appia eye pencil & its a lovely lovely warm browny copper. I wish it was just a tad more espresso, but its really flattering on hazel eyes.

i think im going to keep the pressed form since i saw another review on it with the girl who used the pressed and she used a buffing brush with it. i think for me it looks better over foundation only because i have very uneven skin so it was a bit harder to tell.

This is completely random, but I'm sorting out my room and I have about 200+ issues of British Vogue and Elle that I don't know what to do with! When I was younger I used to make scrapbooks with all my favourite images and articles, but I don't think I have enough time now. Any ideas? Currently they're all hiding under my bed

now my question is this came out in NYC but was it only in manhattan?? or did they mean the whole tri state area. I live in Long Island so im not even sure if that counts also. My package comes on monday and if I want backups of any of the lipsticks i would be screwed if they came out in every NY store for real
