And yes, I've seen worse at stores, especially at events. It's simply gross!

Absolutely awful and you're right she could of gotten it from her bf or even a past one. Herpes can initially show up 2-20 days after it's caught or you may not even ever have symptoms of it at all for years after you contract it. I've seen people try on lippies at the counters straight out of the stand and it makes me wanna gag, I would never even contemplate taking an MUA's word over it being clean or not and would either clean it myself with my handy dandy spray bottle of alcohol I carry around or watch them clean it if I were so desperate for a lip swatch for some odd reason.

For once, I agree with the commenters. It's possible, but there is not enough evidence to blame the lipstick. She could have already had herpes or like commenters said, contracted it from someone. Oral herpes is ridiculously common. But tester lipsticks are gross for sure.

I agree. It amazes that anyone would try on testers that hundreds of people have been poking in and around. And now this one is trying to sue MAC. Ugh.

I highly doubt that the herpes showed up that quickly... and I also don't think the virus has a long shelf-life in certain temperatures. All the MAC counters I go to will not let you try a lippie that hasn't been cleaned off. The clean after testing and sometimes before as well. I call BS on this. The girl is prob just has loose morals lol

Oral herpes can be spread pretty innocently! I think over half the population has it. But suing over this is pretty shady, I doubt it'll hold up in court...

Seriously! I was reading about it, too. At least it's not very serious, just icky. Sounds like the sores lessen in frequency & severity over time and may stop completely. And now the search history on my phone looks pretty suspicious, lol. But on the topic, I'm going to skip RiRi Hearts MAC, which is good considering I bought a ton from All About Orange.
