I just swatched Lunar EDES. I think Lunar may be a good e/s base for Midnight looking at Beautezine swatch . Hopefully will be able to confirm soon!

Debbs,

That's a great idea! I have Lunar too. I think that would be absolutely gorgeous!!!

Do you know if these can be used with lipstick? If so, Rock Candy and Pink Pepper (what the heck, most of them) could be so very cool!

Damson swatches much differently on me than it does on lighter skin tones. The swatch i posted is not on me just to clarify . It is a more of a deep vibrant yellow gold on me. A major obvious difference on both me and the swatcher. She actually wished it appeared that way on her as it came out on me! I didnt notice the dark base as much on me which is understandable. Just an FYI, MsBeautyBunni. Either way, I do think you will absolutely love it!

Debbs thanks for the clarification. I kept wondering why your arm seemed so light. Lol. I just thought it was a super bright flash.

No prob, didn't want to mislead anyone. I made mention on the pic re the differences but I guess I wasn't really clear in my explanation.

Exactly! On my skin the gold pearl is less noticeable. You can see it (in person) but the brown is more prominent. On someone with darker skin the gold pearl would show up more while the brown would blend in with their skin tone. I will try to do a look with it soon.

I wonder if Lime Ice is a lighter version of Lucky in Love
th_dunno.gif
It's not lighter than Lucky in Love - I'd say it's about the same lightness, but it's less pastel, so less white looking overall. It reads a little greener and greyer than LiL. I wanted to love LiL but it was to pastel for me and didn't have enough peacock green color in it. Lime Ice is a better fit for me. You could call it the early fall Lucky in Love, maybe.

The yellow gold pearl POPPED on my eyes when I tried it and I'm fair. Maybe it's just how the light hits it? The deep base was there too, but it was a subtle darkening, not stark. It's so gorgeous!! :hot:
I'll see how it looks on my eyes. Maybe on my skin swatches the gold pearl wasn't as popping as it is on others due to my yellow undertones. A little off topic (but the reference applies lol) but it's why I can't get yellow ink to really show on me when I get/got tattoos. Yellow disappears on my skin (so the honey for my honey pot is isn't golden lol). I'm sure a base will help with however Damson ends up appearing on my lid.

Yeah, I think so too. Ill just have to wait a little while longer to do so..I did check out Deeply Dashing in person about a month ago and thought it was pretty. But I didn't linger around the PPs too long because I was in a hurry. Anyway, I think I would like the formula but I don't want to risk ordering online and not liking a certain color or something like that because I hate returning things.

Wow, if LI is so close to your eye color, you must have gorgeous eyes, but I'm sure you can find a way to make it work. Do you mind having to alter something to make it work in the first place? My eyes are hazel with mostly green and amber in them, but LI seems like a lighter green than the one in my eyes. `A navy liner with this color sounds like a really pretty combo. As for my skin tone, i don't know what it is anymore. I'm definitely fair.. but NW or NC? I never get a consistent answer. Most just settle on saying i'm neutral. This really frustrates me because I want to know what colors work best for my skin tone / hair color / eye color.

LI is so close to my eye color that it sort of washes everything out - at least in the light of the MAC store. I'm thinking I can adjust it to be perfect putting it over a grey paint pot and using a navy liner, like Night Trail, rather than black or brown. If you have fair NW skin and brown eyes, though, LI is going to look fantastic!

I really prefer buying things I don't have to struggle with to make them work. I want it to look good with the minimum effort and the least layers of stuff under or over (that part's mostly because heavy textures on my eyes just brings out every tiny wrinkle). You should have seen me debating getting Lucky in Love - ultimately I didn't get it and I'm still not sure I'll get Lime Ice - there are other sea foams coming out this season, so if there's one with more grey and a little more mid-tone, it'd do better for me. I don't buy anything without trying it in person, too - except I broke my rule for the metallics in the Nudes & Metallics collection, because I couldn't pass those up at all!
