 All this talk of balls... ;)
I'm so confused, too, because it's only for VIBR/VIBs this year. So shouldn't there (likely) be less traffic? You're keeping the true junkies, but losing a lot of the extra casual shoppers...? o_O;
You would think so, but I guess not! I'm very annoyed that regular Beauty Insiders are getting the shaft this time.

I got so fed up too that I shopped elsewhere online. Actually spent far more than originally planned because I was upset over this stupid nightmare. And to read of Asia beauties getting their accounts locked and not getting a clear reason as to why...I'm pretty much done making Sephora rich.lol
Agreed. I'm about to spend my money elsewhere, discount or not....glad I hadn't made rouge again yet.

It was VIB/BI before they made VIB Rouge because I would always give my friends the BI code
You can still give BI's the extra friend code...is that what you mean? BI also are included in the spring sale. I don't ever recall BI's being part of the VIB sale, even before rouge(which has only been around a year), well not in the past three years at least, unless of course a VIB gave their friend code to a BI.

The website received too much traffic from the around the world and the server crashed. Alot of the people complaining did not even attempt to call Sephora to place the order, nor ask if they can get a credit or gift card to buy an item later. Some did attempt to contact CS and did not get a resolution over the phone. Some of the complaints are because people wanted to use two promos/coupons on one order. People freak out about some of the most trivial things. It just makeup people. No one died and you're life is not ruined.

I'm a VIB rouge member, most of the items I wanted was available some like the Nars audacious lipsticks were not(not to worry I"m sure Narscosmetics.com will have friend/family sale within the next month). Urban Decay just had their friends/family last at ud.com. They always do. If not, then I can order from Sephora again using the ebates cash back option.
I'm Rouge as well. Calling Sephora didn't help; they've shut down all international orders. Although instead of just putting a message on the home screen (of the Canadian site), they let us waste a couple of hours trying to log in, fill our cart, have it crash, attempt again, only to find out when we could actually press 'checkout' without hanging or crashing that it wasn't going to go through anyway. There's still no message up. The reality is that they've handled their server issues poorly.

Unfortunately, those of us in Canada don't have the same options to simply order from another retailer; we can't order from UD or Ulta (they won't ship here) and ordering from NARS is also a problem. Of course no one is dying; that isn't the standard for it being reasonable to complain about poor service.

I think if they would have left the sale the way its been giving Rouge an extra 2-3 days to shop none of this would have happened.... But literally everyone was trying to shop at the same time and the site crashed.... Its insane.

I'm going to try and go to the lesser known Sephora's in NYC and find the 3 items I really wanted...

This is crazy. I had a dr appt yesterday so I waited until the evening to try to access the site. And when I did I got the dreaded 'get in line' screen so of course I came here to find out WTF. Truly this is the only place that has reliable information. I cannot believe the craziness with international orders/accounts. Makes no sense ..... People still ca not get online. Things are sold out. The sale needs to be extended. Period. Sephora needs to do something to redeem themselves with their most loyal customers.

@cjay I 100% agree. The sale is too short in my opinion. Stay away from Union Square, that place was sold out of a lot yesterday. I'm going to pop into 18th street and fifth today.

I haven't used it on my eyes, but I've swatched it a couple times in Nordie's and Sephora. Not very pigmented at all - standard for her eyeshadow palettes. I think, for the money, you're better off getting something else

Ok I'm done...for now Liv is coming from Nordstrom. . I'm done until I finally go to a NARS boutique, which will be in 10 days when I go to Las Vegas :rasta: Bette will be mine! But then again, I'll be picking up my MUFE next week in Kansas City. they're honoring my 20%, so another lipstick might end up coming home.. If I can still get the 20%...mama didn't raise a fool! Just saying

Yeah, they should do that at least. That way, people don't get their hopes up.

I had considered phoning in, so this information is useful to me. I can't even get half the items I want in-store.. most of the instore I bought at the sephora event, these are either online only, or items that don't seem to make it as far north for some reason.

Now it keeps logging me out, so I have to log in, rearrange my checkout (since items keep expiring) only to be told to go pound sand. Frustrating.

While I am here, which brand of makeup remover wipes do you guys like? Just basic makeup removal....

I have been trying to order from Canada as well. Some of the items (Philosophy white ginger, LM hand creme) aren't even in stores in Canada.. ugh! Glad I got my hourglass palette when I was at the event at the Eaton center!

I can't believe how they are handling this. I heard a rumor that this was also a DDOS attack, random to many major retailers that just happened to hit when the sale was on, so came at a very bad time. To me that would explain random blocking of all things Chinese? Horrible move on their part.

I think the code you can share with non VIB or VIBR friends is causing the issue. That made the sale accessible to anyone. Major Fail Sephora!
