It looks more gold than pink like what she said. I'm really in love with the Chantecaille Holiday powder though, which looks more pink.

Yes, I have to say that if I were to choose between them, I'd probably go with Chantecaille. I was also interested in the CdP highlighter that I saw, but that one is just ridiculously expensive. Makes Chantecaille's price look like a drugstore find.

Went to Saks to check out the collection:

Fracas was a huge disappointment. You can barely see the gold shimmers, so it's basically just a bright yellow pink.
The hightlighter powder was gorgeous but it's not worth price tag and wouldn't be that useful for me.

The only things I got were the two Rouge Allure Velvets. I think most Saks have gotten the collection, call to make sure!

Did you see the purple RA lipstick? How purple is it? Is the coral RAV similar in color to Flamboyante if you have that lipstick? I'm getting the purple RA no matter what, but I think I'll wait to swatch the other lipsticks in person. I think I'll wait to see the polish in person as well. I'm still swooning for the highlighter. Is it expected to sell out quickly like Notorious?

The CdP highlighter has tempted me too but for the price it's a no. I really like the Chantecaille highlighter and maybe it's a good thing I can't get the brand here.

Disappointing to hear about Fracas. Money saved!

The purple lipstick was more plum? Envoutante is definitely more in tune with the fall color that's happening right now. It's gorgeous mainly due to the RA texture. Actually now that I"m think about it again, I might go back and pick that up or when Dillards/Nordies does a Chanel event. I was so distracted by the other lipsticks.

The nude ones (one pinky nude and the other more peachy nude) seemed really wearable too. I never go into Saks so it was just weird...there was no one there and the SA helping me was basically no help. When I tried on the lippie she didn't even use alcohol, she just scraped some off for me...

I do have Flamboyante but not in the velvet texture. Flamboyante is more of a softened red while La Favorite is more orange, even though it's not orange at all. I'll try to take pictures later when I find my Flamboyante hiding somewhere.

If I do go back I want to get that lipgloss Merveille and another lipstick, probably Envoutante, I think they would look good together. The nail polishes weren't anything special. But Fracas was very pretty don't get me wrong. I just wish the shimmers showed more.

This is me wearing La Favorite, sorry lighting in the office is very yellow!

Thanks for the info! I'm putting together my list now. La Favorite looks very pretty on you.

Highlighter reminds me big time of this

http://sweetandbitterblog.blogspot.com/2012/01/bourjois-delice-de-poudre-highlighting.html

which is not weird since they are sister companies.

i have this bourjois highlighter and all the swatches i've seen so far for this chanel one look exactly the same as bourjois

Thank you so much for posting! La Favorite looks fantastic on you! This is the one I was most interested in. It doesn't look orange on you at all, but that could be my computer. Looking forward to more pics!

Is anyone interested in the eyeshadow quad? I was going to pass on it at first in favor of getting Prelude. But the way she describes the quad here makes me interested. Plus it's limited edition while Prelude is permanent. I don't want to miss out on anything special.

I got the quad yesterday from my Saks and I love it. And I agree with BTiB that her photo is much more color accurate than the Nordstrom promo pic. It's very neutral and classy looking on. Where did you read that it's LE? That is crazy of Chanel! Prelude is also beautiful. Really you need both.

Raffinement is listed on this site that was previously linked in this thread as LE.

However, I notice it's not marked as LE on the Chanel color story chart, so I guess it's permanent.

Which is your favorite between the two, Prelude or Raffinement?

Oh I just couldn't say. I only got the new one yesterday but Prelude is more cool-neutral, a little deeper. Raffinement is more straight up neutral, a bit lighter and more shimmery to me. Not that it's overly shimmery...I am just comparing to Prelude. Sabrina and Amy both have nice pics of Prelude if you haven't already seen them:

I saw this collection while walking through Saks this morning. It took everything in me not to make a purchase, but for once, I didn't want to be impulsive. So much of it was beautiful. I swatched the highlighter and it's gorgeous. I think that'll be a Christmas gift to myself. It's seriously beautiful and shows up on my skin. The lipstick, La Favorite is a gorgeous coral and I'm definitely buying that. Mervielle gloss is absolutely gorgeous and although I don't need another gloss, I may have to give in. The matching lipstick, Envoutante is pretty and I think it'll be even better with the gloss on top, but I'm not totally sold on it b/c I don't know if I'd ever wear it alone. So, right now I'm pretty certain about the highlighter and La Favorite. I didn't swatch the quad because it's so familiar to me. I'm excited to actually make a purchase next week. :D

Winthrop, I haven't seen those Prelude pics.

It's going to be tough to choose. I can only get one quad right now. I'm probably leaning towards Raffinement since it's the newest of the two and I'm getting other things from the Spring 2013 collection. I'm getting the highlighter and Envoutante for sure. I'm deciding between La Favorite or Captivante to get now. Shontay's review is pushing me towards La Favorite. I'm glad they're not LE so I can get the other one later. I'm also probably getting Fracas polish. I might as well get Raffinement to complete the set, and will get Prelude later. The rest of the items, like Mervielle, I want to see in person. Thank goodness that's supposed to be permanent too.

Prelude is more unique, but they are both beautiful. I also got the "soft rose" lipstick (Fantasque) and Merveille.....and thanks to Shontay and sungelly87 I just caved and ordered La Favorite from Nordstrom although the RAV formula is not my favorite.
