I hauled BIG $$$ on this one. ;p

My fave MUA at nordies called me today and we did a pre-sale over the phone. I got....

2 of the eye brush sets (may give one as a gift)
1 of the face brush sets
1 duo (the teal and brownish/grey one)
1 eye kit (the black one)

And I also was able to purchase the brushes and 2 of the mineralized shadows I wanted from semi precious! Yay! I pick them all up tomorrow! Can't wait! =)

I picked up all my goods today from nordies. I must say, the duos are pretty amazing in person! The pics do them no justice! They are smooth and very pigmented! I hope to do a look with one of them tomorrow (I ended up getting 2, hehe), and I will post pics and more of a review. If anyone can get to them in person, definitely give them a chance. They may surprise you! ;)


I also really really loved the brushes! They are so beautiful, I may never use them! lol. No, I better use them. I need to stop hoarding! What's the point of all this pretty if they just sit there unused? =)

I was planning to skip this collection, but while I was at Nordstrom to pick up some Semi Precious stuff today, I swatched the duos and lippies and just couldn't resist!

Here's what I came home with:

I looked at Cinematics at The Bay today. It seemed good quality and nicely coordinated but I completely passed. The sets aren't really value-priced so they're only worth getting if you would buy all the products individually. The brushes seemed better better quality than some of the holiday sets but certainly not up to the regular brush quality. They're not bad for the price though so they might be a good buy if you like the looks of them.

The brown e/s in double feature five looks gorgeous, but I'm not keen on the peach it comes with and I don't want to pay for both colours if I'm only going to use one. The brushes look really pretty too, but I think they'd be too pretty to use!

I stopped by The Bay today and I have to say that I was more impressed by this collection than I imagined I'd be. The colours on the duos are pretty nice and, despite the fact that they aren't as good a deal as Mac's quads, they're still well cheaper than NARS' duos, which are the closest comparison. I was surprised that the shades in each duo seemed so unique. I'm definitely lemming the duo with the peachy pink/ red brown with green sheen and the magenta/ charcoal shades.

hmm im surprised that people are liking these sets as i thought they were pretty boring. i may check them out when they are released here but im honestly not excited for them. not when there are other major collections to look forward to. im unsure as to whether my country is in on the pick-and-choose system but i'll see how it goes.

glad that some of you girls are liking these sets though. i have a feeling they will end up in the CCOs.

I really like the one with the teal half, but the ochre brown-ey one, what would I do with that? Who thought that would be a good combo?

Hey guys ^_^ I was actually able to pick up the Duo 4 (teal and ochre colored one) from Nordies today. I'll do a look tomorrow and show you how I use it.

Ok, I got bored and went ahead and did something.

So, for the look I used:

Brassy f/l as a base up to the crease
The teal color from the duo on the outer half of the lid
The ochre color in my crease and in the center of my lid to blend the teal and gold together.

For the rest of my face I have a studio moisture tint, porcelain pink msf all over, and warmth of coral blush on my cheeks.

It's not the best, but it turned out nice for just playing around :)
