I think they look gorgeous on and they don't have a weird texture or anything either.

Maybe I'll try one out and see how I like it... Never hurts to have an extra lippie, right?

If you could recommend just one of the colors, which would you pick?

Normally I'd say Liquid Lurex, because you're not going to find another colour like it anywhere in MAC's selection (or even in old LE collections). However, you say that you don't like glitter and that one is pretty frosty. If you're looking for something a little more toned down on the glitter side...

Snazzy- sort of a pinky plum

or, let's face it, it's the obvious choice given your user name

Baby's on Fire- true red

Neither of these is particularly glittery, although they have a subtle frost. They feel more like slightly sparkly lustres on the lips.

I saw this collection at The Bay at the end of June or first week of July. They just had the lipsticks though and i didn't have enough time to swatch them. I remember specifically seeing Liquid Lurex (is that the right name) and was kinda shocked to see that lipstick....no offense to anyone who likes it! I do want to haul some of the dazzleglasses though like Glamour OD, Hi-Falutin', Spanking Rich, and maybe Utterly Posh. Can't wait to swatch the lipsticks!

I'd love to hear from everyone who's tried it, especially if you're like me about the whole glitter thing!

So, I love glitter...and I love lipsticks...but these are WAY TOO MUCH! I can't wear these lippies on their own. It is glitter city and not in a cute way.

The glitter is much less noticeable when you layer these over another lipstick or a lipbalm, but when worn on their own, I think the glitter is just overpowering and unattractive and seeps into the little cracks on the lips. I was majorly disappointed. I love MAC lipsticks - especially frosts, lustres and glazes. But these are relegated to layering status or going out clubbing status amongst my scores of lippies.

Baby's on Fire is the most wearable both because it has less of this glitter and the texture seems smoother. Also it is a really wearable red. This is my fav. of the bunch and I am not usually a red lipstick wearer.

Also, I found that in a lot of these (I bought 5 of these) the glitter is the same color...so once the base color of the lipstick wears off (and I find the base color to wear off pretty quickly, because as someone else said the lipstick seems to be a lustre formula), you're left with the same sort of glitter on the lips. And on me this is not a cute look - - although there are those who pull this off and look damn good doing it too! I wish I were one of them.

I do think Liquid Lurex is a unique color and Hellraiser is beautiful to look at. But after the OMG-new-product hype dies down a bit, I think the only one of these I'll really reach for is Baby's on Fire.
This is all just my opinion. More power to those of you who are rockin' these. I really wish I were in that camp. I want to love them, I just don't. I really would be surprised if these become perm....I think there has to be a better formulation for a "Dazzle" lippie.

Just my 2 cents. I would very strongly say try before buying or buy one and try it - before buying 5 like I did.

I particularly like Hot Sass and Naughty You. If I had to pick one... Probably Hot Sass.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies!!

katred - Funny you mention Liquid Lurex first because I definitely gravitated towards it. Though I don't wear em every day, I love special, "weird" lippies! Snazzy sounds pretty, too... I stole the user name Baby's On Fire because I liked the sound of it, plus it reminds me of the Rob Zombie song "Girl on Fire", heh.

Swirlgirl - Everything you said is pretty much what I'm afraid of! I don't want the glitter to seep into every little line on my lips, and I don't think I'd look cute after the color wore off with only the glitter remaining. Thanks for the heads up!

LittleMaryJane - They both look lovely, too! I'm thinking that, of the two, Naughty You might look better on me and a lot of people seem to like that one as well!

I *do* like a frosty/sparkly look to an extent, I guess I'm just worried about the amount of glitter and size of the particles.
Icy lips with some sparkle =

Heya US people - what are the brush sets like? I'm really interested in the face one as I don't own any MAC brushes & quite like the look of these ones.. but they're only stocking it at one shop in the UK, & I don't want to schlep all the way to Harvey Nichols if its not that great..
Also are the lipsticks like rocky horror glittery? I really want a tacky glittery lipstick that doesn't feel foul or have major chunks of glitter..
Thanks xxx

^ lipsticks are fine glitter. if you put gloss over it, it looks like fine glittery shimmer on a sheer base. they feel smooth on the lips. they are nothing like the superglass with huge chunks of glitter if thats what you are concerned about!

the brush sets tend to shed very easily and not the same quality as the full sized brushes. they are good if you just want to try the brushes out and if you really like them you could buy the fullsized. i find them not as dense and more prickly. but they are good to throw in your bag.

I don't know why I am so addicted to these lipsticks- seems like I am the only one!
lol.gif
But I have been wearing Hellraiser for like the past 3 days straight and it's so gorgeous! It's just got this really cool dimension to it that makes your lips look like vinyl or something- super awesome.
yes.gif
I am still waiting for 2 more of mine to arrive- Win Win and Liquid Lurex, and now I'm seeing that Smash Hit is also available again on Nordstrom.com, so I'm debating if I need another one...but so far I have really enjoyed Hellraiser.

I'm happy for you!

I wish I could take the plunge, but I just don't like glitter anywhere on my face but my eyes (and in small doses) and I just think these would be too much for me.

True, true. Which would you recommend? I love purple, and very light, subtle pinks. But, I am willing to venture. Which one would be your pick if you were to only get one?

I'm so glad that some of you are loving these. I really think this is one of those products that you just have to try for yourself!

Abbyquack, are you wearing Hellraiser over anything else or with a certain liner? I really would love to get this one to work on me. Baby's on Fire has been the only one that hasn't just looked odd and dry and weird on my lips.

If you like purple, you might like Hellraiser- it is just like High Top from Fafi- just more noticeable blue sparkles. It also doesn't look too overly purple. I am also getting Win Win which is a light pink so I'll let you know how I like it when it arrives.

No I haven't been wearing any liner with it, just on its own. It is pretty decently pigmented. I wore Boys Go Crazy d/g over it tonight and that looked awesome- tons noticeable of sparkle! I will definitely have to take a picture so you guys can see. But as far as Baby's on Fire's bad texture goes, I dis also get Glaringly Hip and I didn't care for it as much as Hellraiser because the application is not as even and kinda cakey, so maybe the texture on some is better/worse?

Thanks Abby! I'll look forward to your review. I was interested in that one when I was going to buy from this collection. And Hellraiser was one I was interested in, too. You'll have to tell me which one you like better!

The brushes will also be online, so you can always order and then return if you don't like it after all.

They'res a rogue thieving postie in my area & I've had trouble buying off the internet with my new card - paypal only seems to work, so I'd rather pick them up then have it sell out online quick/go 'missing' in the post...

Its weird why they'd be different to regular brushes - I refuse to spend £20+ on a single brush...

What do you mean weird? The materials and assembly methods for SE brushes are different and less costly, that's why they are less expensive.
