RIGHT, back to MAC... I think I am actually skipping the colour collection. Was only interested in Lavish Living, but all this talk about people returning it left and right has left me wondering if it will be suitable for me at all. Will have to wait another 2 weeks before they get here, I think. Ugh!
Thanks for the info. I had no idea trained dermatologists performed laser. I guess that will be the first place I look into for the future.

Nightmoth is my very most favorite-est MAC lip liner pencil. I adore the color. Darker, more violet than any other current MAC liners.
Even when I was in my no-makeup phase, I ALWAYS had Nightmoth! That color is my hands down favorite for lining vampy or red lips.

I'm lovin' this collection. Every day i wear several things from it - well, and some other stuff...

Yesterday i wore the cooler (outer) purple from Scene to Be Seen as blush - used my NARS Yachiyo to apply it - it's great for giving me color but not over doing it. Talk That Talk lipstick with a bit of Caliente in mid-lip to brighten it a little. And i played with my Spider Queen 6X palette, used 5 of the colors: the goldish Moss all over my lid, Lime on the outer lid, Dusty Purple in the crease and up a little, Deep Purple in the crease, and Carbon as a soft liner.

Today, it was Flair for Finery on the lips, Stormy Pink Paint Pot on the eyes (on me it's quite dark) with the lighter color from Until Dawn over it just on the lids, Stares and Speculation to line, and the light gold-pink from Centre of Attention to highlight the cheeks.

No regretsy!

Well, shoot. I have used 70% rubbing alcohol and ruined cracked blush... And I have never though if using a bristled silicone mitt to help clean my brushes. Thanks, Pixie and Erine, for sharing your opinions and expertise!
See. That's 70% is most people have laying around their house, and think nothing of it when they hear they need rubbing alcohol. 99% needs to be special ordered most of the time.

so i went to mac today and i was pretty sure that i would get the violet lip set. i tried on the lipstick with the liner and i liked it but wasnt super impressed. i like the color of dark deed but its almost too creamy for my taste. i like darker colors to be more on the matte side. i feel like a color like that will get out of the lines and not last. does anyone who bought this like it? if im wrong and it does last, let me know because i really do like the color! just dont want want my red lips to fade!!
I got it and I like it. It is creamy but I like it like that

I'm glad you wound up getting great results! Going to a dermatologist has that extra advantage of also taking the time to really explain all of your medical questions about skin too.

You'll be happy doing the lower leg - I'm so glad I don't need to bother with it anymore. The funny thing is, men are getting more pressure than ever before to "manscape" and groom here, there and everywhere…I guess they're finally falling victim to the beauty expectations trap they originally set for women only. Karma's a bitch!

I DO think that if you're NC30 with golden undertones, you MUST at least test Lavish Living at a store. It's so beautiful and you've got a perfect skin tone for it and the majority of this collection's products! You might go crazy for COA and STBS too!

So I quickly slapped some on so everyone can get an idea of how they look on the skin (NW15 for reference).
Top pic is blush (applied heavily to bring color out better in pic, and overtop of small vanity which I tried to wipe off with a tissue) and lipstick
Bottom pic blush lipstick and lipglass
i'll try and do an actual look with this set tmrw. I'm excited cause I actually really like everything in it!

Beautiful Mac4Megan!!!

I purchased Lavish Living and STBS online, but wanted to go the MAC store to check out Perfectly Poised. The SA raved about it since I asked for a powder highlighter. I don't know if I should get it or not. I have been wanting Gold Deposit for a while so not sure which one to choose. I also told her that I needed a gloss to help make EE more wearable and she suggested the plushglass in Ample Pink. It actually helps quite a bit along with cork lip liner. I do love my cute bag with Dark Deed.

I'm seriously thinking about getting the Viva Glam bag. I like the way VG1 looks but I'm wondering if I'll really wear it since I've basically kicked all of my reds to the side for RRW.

Pink lip and cheek bag swatches coming up momentarily. I actually really like this set. The lipstick (how darling! cremesheen) is a light pink, it's description says warm but I would say its more neutral. The gloss (soft spoken) is a clear base but has a beautiful pinky pearly sparkles. The blush (formal) is a like a light neutral pink, good color payoff, soft texture and I think it's a satin cause it has a slight sheen.
Thanks for the swatches! They look lovely on you. Do you think these would be too light for NC35?

I cannot believe how long I went without it! I kept telling myself I didn't need it for years... So glad I finally picked it up. For such a vampy dark liner, I get a lot of use out of it!

The look is lovely on you! Great everyday colors... I'm sure you'll get a ton of use out of all of those goodies!

Well I'm glad our convo yesterday saved you from ruining it. I personally use Beauty So Clean as it was recommended to me by several celebrity makeup artists that I've worked with and my favorite Youtube guru Wayne Goss (who has a very straight forward, no bs approach to makeup and skincare in general) uses it and recommends it as well. It isn't straight alcohol (like 99% alcohol, which is fine to use). I don't think the product is all hype at all. I've done research on the product and found that the additional ingredients seem to make it safer for your makeup.

Here's one article that really breaks down each ingredient and its importance.

All this being said, obviously 99% alcohol is much cheaper. And works fine. I personally like the added benefits of BSC, and since I'm only using the product on my personal makeup stash, my original bottle has lasted me a very longggggggg time. I can't even imagine needing to replace it for years to come. So while it is more expensive than straight 99% alcohol, it's not a product I forsee someone needing to repurchase a ton.... as a little goes a very long way. And obviously my MUA friends don't have a problem with using it either, so if you look into it and decide to try it, trust there's a lot of people out there that use it and sing its praises.

Good luck fixing that blush hun! Please don't tell me it's a LE one, that makes my heart hurt! HeeHee

Thanks, Pixie! We are all in search of products that we love, love, love. I have spent money on stuff that didn't work out (Beauty Blender, foundation brushes, machine washable velour puffs lol). Then there are countless things that I am so glad I tried because of the makeup community. Specktra is great because it brings together everyday folks like me, makeup artists like Erine, and stars like you that have experience putting together your own beautiful looks for all occasions. Thanks to Erine, I'm definitely going to repair my makeup properly and thanks to you, sanitize my makeup and brushes more carefully! And you KNOW I ruined not one but TWO LE blushes (Royal Sunset, Prom Princess), but thankfully I have a zillion similar ones. ;)

That's so true! Sometimes I read rave reviews for products and then they're just blah to me (or vice versa)... Sometimes I would wonder if it was me! Then I found Specktra and quickly realized, different strokes for different folks is often the forte! If I LOVE something, or find something that works for me I really want to share it here because I hope someone else finds it useful. I'm only ever just trying to help and add to the community that I love so much!

Oh-M-Geeeeee NO! I'm going to pretend I didn't read that last sentence... I would cry! I also chipped one of my LE blushes and every time I open that blush palette my heart bleeds a little! Sorry for your loss(es)!
