MAC Glitter and Ice Discussion

I pre-ordered from Nordstroms

-Snowglobe beauty powder. I'm a NC15 and I think this is going to be perfect

-Whirls & Twirls and Double Spin Lipstick

-Dressed to Dazzle and Glitter & Ice Dazzleglass

-Snow Season, Fresh Ice and Hold That Pose MES

-Warm Fabulously Festive Face Kit

-Unconditionally Fabulous and Festive Finery Polishes

I'm not positive I'm loving my decision on the polishes or the face kit though.

What are your thoughts on dazzleglasses? I remember taking the one I got last year back (from the tartan tale launch) because it was pretty gritty and got glitter EVERYWHERE as it wore off.

Am I crazy? Do people love these? Should I give them another try?

I saw this collection today but still haven't pre-ordered. So far I'm really liking the How Beautiful BP as it gives a sheen to my skin. But since I have Lightscapade I dont' know if i really need it. I really like the dark and light paintpot. The light paintpot had PINK sparkles! SOOO pretty. And the dark one had pink sparkles too! Plus you can sheer it out a lot. Dressed to Dazzle dazzleglass is also pretty since it has the pink sparkles too (i have a thing for pink sparkles can you tell lol). I just wonder if it's a must since I have tons of dazzleglasses that aren't really getting any love. I'm passing on the MES since I hardly use the ones I have...and the lipsticks were pretty blehhhh. I like the liners but they are pretty dupeable. Decent collection...luckily I have a week or so to decide what I really want.

So my friend just texted me and told me that this collection along with all the sets are now on the pro website. And she squeeeeee'd about the discount being available with the color story. HAHAHA who sqeeee's on a text? Apparently my friend. So happy shopping...and now I will make my Xmas wishlist to give her LOL

Exactly, and if you swatch them heavy, they look powdery and it does not reflect at all - literally! - how they look in real life. However, swatching an MES/MSF so heavily that it looks powdery is a complete distortion of the "truth." How a product swatches, however, depends so much on veining, so pick wisely to avoid disappointment. If you can't get to a counter, do a CP.

What is more important, IMO, is the texture, as this is probably the only constant element in MES/MSF as it does not depend on veining. And the texture is something that can be described accurately in words...

PLease guys if you do get the chance post swatches because I dont have a counter/store where i live (I dont have a car either) and bloggers dont post MAC any more.... so I'd really appreciate it :(

Thanks for the swatches, Duckrodeo, you've just saved me some coin. Shockingly, I might end up passing on this collection entirely. There are things I want from other companies and none of these seem like they're unique enough/ I'd use them enough. I'm more excited for the collections due out at the beginning of January.

Based on what pics I have seen so far, I am underwhelmed by this collection. I think that I experienced MAC overload in September & early October with the billions of products MAC released. I need some MAC detox time before I get excited by this new collex.

I like how they look when applied, but they are too gritty for me. The worst were the dazzlecremes.

You're very welcome, Katred! :) I'm glad the swatches have been some help! I myself was on the fence with the G&I lipsticks because I'm in a honeymoon phase with MAC - I just started purchasing MAC items when MAC Me Over was released - so while it is tempting to want everything, in reality there are just a few items in this collection that seem worthwhile or stand out among other products that have been released by MAC in the past few months. I'm also very excited for products launching December 26 - just in time for my birthday, woohoo!

i'm not going crazy with this collection either. i shall be buying a couple of bits (a few more than i did with last years collection) but i'm not hauling as much as i did with the red she said collection.
