MAC - Holiday 09: Magic, Mirth and Mischief (Holiday Sets Part I) Discussion

My counter began taking pre-orders for this collection yesterday. I'll be going down to look at the collection tomorrow.

Judging from the pics in the swatch thread, I really like Sorceress, Cool Eyes, and the Warm Eyes palettes, plus some others.

I'm supposed to be on a no-buy though. Uh-oh.

I ordered online last night.. I really wanted young punk and the black grease stick but they were sold out and I just checked and they are in stock which sucks cause now Im like hmmmmm ....

Anyways I bought sorcery, smoke and mirrors, the pink lip kit and cranberry refill shadow along with a 4-slot palette im planning on buying 2 of the lipglass sets and 2 of the pigments.

Same here. I love this little palette: it has lovely purples that are great for fall, and a great highlight and crease colour. What more could you ask for? This will make getting ready for school so much easier for me - I'll only use this palette and a paint pot instead of reaching for 5-7 different separate shadows like I usually do. Hooray for convenience!

I thought you could'nt pre order anymore, ahhhhh panic!!
I hope that things won't go sold out immediately.
In which counter do you normally go?
I might have a look to the eye palettes, even if I wasn't too interested before!

i cant wait to see the sorc pallette in person, its the one i was most excited about, and i dont usually do the holiday shadow pallets, im all about mini pigments and glosses, lol. but this one seems to be pretty popular.

Pre-orders for which items? All the palettes, sets, kits? What about the colour story collection, the MES collection? I'm going to look tomorrow too but don't think I will pre-order.

Since the site is running slow again today, I am posting this (as I could not find it in this thread already). I frequent Temptalia as well and they have up images of the packaging for Mischief Makers aka the mini pigments and mini lippies.

My MA is currently at Tangs Orchard, so yeah, I go to that counter if I wanna look for her.

My MA originally told me the pre-order was for the "Magic, Mirth and Mischief" collection, but she sent me another text today saying that it's only for the "holiday collection". So I suppose it's only for the palettes/sets/kits but not the MES.

I stopped by my local store yesterday. Totally ready to buy 1 or 2 eye palette's. But, at the display they had the actually palette's that hold the eye shadows out of the cases on display. That thing was sooo incredible tiny, I couldn't believe it. Sorry, but no way are those palette's worth $36. Just my opinion of course.

I swatched Shimpangne on the back of my hand yesterday with the 181 brush and I got a bunch of glittery chunks

Was this a fluke? Everyone seems to love it so much. Should I try again?

I don't know why I can never get into the holiday collections, especially the palettes :/ I actually like them less and less this year. I'll prob pick up the purple palette for my mom for her x-mas gift

Thank you elegant-one! I wasn't sure about it at first, because I thought the lipstick might be a little light on me, but it's a really pretty soft pink. This is also the first time I've really looked at Baby Sparks and it's much prettier than I expected.

I'm wearing the Smoke & Mirrors palette today and I'm in love! The colors Deception and Spell No 9 make the most perfect lid colors. So smooth and creamy looking on the lid. Also, everybody has to try Phiff over Hue l/s, so so pretty!

I am the same way...and I think mine is because they never have 100% of all the items I want...or they have items I already have so I pay $36 for a lipstick and stuff I never use or need....I just prefer to buy my things individually and get what I want even if I spend a bit more at least I know I will use it

i agree that i use my holiday palettes alot less than i use my quads (pre made and self made!) not sure why really.... the past couple of years i have bought teh smokey eyes palettes but this year i'm going for the cool eyes because i love the look of the colours... plus pretty packaging always helps!
