The pigment sets are a little disappointing. I was really hoping they'd include some rares. I'll probably just get the chocolate brown one and maybe jardin aires depending on what else is in it. I love the packaging this year. Its so cute. I'll definitely be getting the eye and face palettes. And probably the lipglass sets.

It's listed as Pro Only on the Pro site, correct? My Pro store said they have been OOS for about 4-5 months and they were told it was going bye bye...but who knows for sure

yes. remember, they're repackaging them so they will either sell out of what they have and wait for the new, or send back what they have left at a certain point and wait for the new.

its currently instock on the pro site.

i did find out today that if you order over the phone, its in real time. on the pro site, however, only once your order is processed will anyone know if its truely in stock. it may show in stock on the site, and then the next day when its processed, it may not be. there's a delay online. this is only for the pro site. i don't know if the regular site is the same or not.

i'm pretty sure that when they said 'packaging' it only meant the little plastic ring thing that's inside the lid - it looks a little different.

Isn't it just smaller amount in the same containers? Like with Overrich pigments? Or is it just my delusion?

no the only reason why it looks like there are less product in those is because they weigh differently. think it's to do with the textures. it's not actually that they're giving us less product

Well my Copperbeam reads 4.3g (and the volume of the product doesn't make up for the smaller amount - the jar was half full when I opened it for the first time) and my Cocomotion reads regular 7.5g (and the jar was brimming full)... I know it was like this with the Overrich pigments but I was under the impression the "new packaging" ment going from 7.5g to 4.3g with regular pigments as well (read it somewhere here on Specktra, don't remember where or what the source was)...

But if "new packaging" means just a new type of the plastic insert... Yay

Erine would be able to explain the volume/weight thing. but they really aren't giving us any different amount of pigment.... i'll see if i can find a better explanation.

these are measured by weight, not volume. mattes are gonna weigh different than frosts are gonna weigh different than glitters. the volume could be the exact same for all we know (it should if things were fair in this world, but they aren't), but their weights are different.

one cup of milk is the same as one cup of cream, but the cream's gonna weigh more. get it?

actually cream is less dense than milk, so it will occupy more space, but weigh less.
Homogenized Milk density at 20°C is 1.030 kg/L
Heavy cream density at 20°C is 0.994 kg/L
fat molecules have a lower specific gravity than water, so the more fat in an aqueous based product, the lower the specific gravity will be.

my head hurts...

I did some research and I don't see these lipsticks as being promoted before. So I am excited for Dream with baby sparks, so I think it will be in the light/mid pink family.

aww shit! you just had to go and say all that nonsensical stuff and confuse people even more!
lol.gif

well, ya'll got my point right?

either way, if you have a cup of A and a cup of B, they're the same volume, but a different weight. but, since mac fills by weight and not volume, each different formula is gonna have different volume levels.

i'm guessing the new packaging is gonna be smaller, since people rarely go thru an entire jar. if this is the case, i'm hoping the price reflects the smaller packaging.

I have a DD cup and the weight and volume seems so much larger than my previous B cup.

It must be the cream vs. the milk.
